We need a revolution to rid almost all of our Institutions of the rampant corruption that's been corroding our Democracy. Hillary will certainly never bite the corrupt hands that have fed her for most of her political career.

I'll fight against her hard in the primaries and I would of course vote for her if she was the nominee.

And another thing is the bush-clinton-bush-obama-clinton dynasty thing. Seems like more dynasty than democracy to me? But I do wonder if I'd feel the same if Hillary handled herself and believed in the things Eleanor Roosevelt did, when Hil was Bill's first lady. In other words, I could stomach a dynasty a lot more if Hillary was a career liberal and walked the walk as a liberal for her public life. You could transplant Jamie Dimon's soul into Hillary and nobody would notice the difference.

"williams was part of the apparatus"

Now that his entire body of journalism work will be scrutinized aggressively by his hypocritical retarded-with-respect-to-their-critical-thinking-abilities news peers;

It will be interesting to see just how much of a propaganda parrot Williams was in the greatest abdication of Constitutional responsibility the U.S. press has been party to since perhaps WW2?

The entire main stream media is as culpable in the War Crimes and Acts of Treason of the against-international-law-illegal-invasion-of-Iraq as the entire 2001-2008 GW Bush Administration.

"If the president does it, it's not illegal", to quote Nixon. Talk about an out of control military industrial congressional surveillance war profiteering government! The creeping totalitarianism of the United States and replacement of Democracy with Oligarchy is really getting out of hand.

Considering our countries trajectory has parallels with the rise of Nazi Germany in the thirties*, shouldn't all American citizens be utterly bat shit about our current completely corrupted and perverse state of affairs? I mean fake wars created expressly for turning tax dollars and shock and awe mass murder into even more money for Oligarchs are something a healthy democratic Society would not tolerate. Same with grotesque medieval for profit prisons, which are simply a modern form of slavery, which we used to be morally against as a country and we sacrificed a half million souls in part to end slavery in our Civil War. Fortunately, our propaganda apparatus, as owned by our Oligarchs, has had about 150 years to improve on the technology of "public relations", so most American's will remain utterly oblivious to the magnitude of injustice that is our current totalitarian fascist police state. And it's preposterous to consider we would have the stuff to conduct a full blown civil war to end the prison industrial complex. Most Americans are fearful and propagandized into complete misinformed ignorance and just love themselves the security of our law and order system. Take my Constitutional Rights, please. Just keep me safe from terrorists. Phil Gramm was a hero in error when he said we're a nation of cry babies. Hopefully the next time Wall Street Gamblers wreck the economy so bad, there will be criminal prosecutions instead of no strings attached, sure, keep giving yourselves seven figure bonuses, taxpayer funded bailouts. No matter how unseemly it is.

* isn't there some truism that once you invoke a Nazi analogy you have lost your argument or are engaging in cheap base debating styles? Are we headed down the 30's path of the Nazi's? Or is it more of the Oligarchy orgies of the Roaring Twenties or The Gilded Age and age of Robber Barons? If you know and respect history, we've gone through this before and a good understanding of history will help our country go back to the core values of Democracy and the most honorable hopes of our founding Fathers for the Country they created to escape tyranny, so we could enjoy some life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

An anchor embellishing what was already a very dangerous helicopter trip is what gets our MSM's panties in a bunch?

And now the MSM is ganging up on him for this?

And this same media catapulted the propaganda in support of the treasonous war crime of an invasion of Iraq?

The American cognitive dissonance about the GW Bush years - that his administration deliberately lied us into war, is now considered NO BIG DEAL? There can be few things a President can do that's more treasonous than deliberately starting a war based on bullshit!

The entire 2003 White House staff should be tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Waging an aggressive invasion of a sovereign country on the basis of BIG LIES is one of the biggest shames of our nation since at least Viet Nam. We put people in jail for life for an ounce of pot. Surely if there was justice then the whole lot of them should spend the rest of their lives in prison. They are responsibly for the deaths of say, a half million people, and their cluster fuck of a completely corrupt war profiteer orgy of incompetence would not be allowed to stand in a decent and just world.

The continued MSM herd persecution of Williams for merely exaggerating his experience in an obviously risky and dangerous situation will be seen by many as the ultimate in down the rabbit hole hypocrisy. But, then again, nobody got prosecuted for our official torture programs, EXCEPT for poor John Kiriakou , who DID NOT COMMIT THE CRIMES, BUT, RATHER, blew the whistle. It's not the wrong doing that will get you. That's not a problem. It's exposing the wrongdoing that will get you jailed!

These are preposterous and utterly unjust times! And I think we as a country are tired of seeing absolutely no justice for the criminal psychopaths in charge of everything important in the world today.

Bob Seger's recent song about global climate change

I'm not a rabid Bob Seger fan, but he is an artist that marks the decades of my life with his music since Rambling Gambling Man in the mid 60's.

I hears this song on little steven in sirius a few days ago and two things struck me;

1. His message in this song is strong and vibrant and urgent

2. He released a new album after a decade?


As a progressive liberal Democratic semi-activist, I strive to determine the ROOT CAUSE of why things are the way they are and why things are not the way they could be in a humanistic civilized cant we all get along planet.

I consider the ROOT CAUSE to be the accelerating manifestation of Oligarchy infesting our government and many parts of the planet.

And the future of the planet is being driven over a cliff by a very very small group of greedy sociopaths that are determined to extract every last drop of oil possible before we move on to clean renewable energy. These people are throwing the future of the entire planet under the bus in the name of merely becoming even more overly rich and powerful than they already are. The future of humanity vs. a few more private jets and car elevators - I'll take the bling please. Ending the world as we know it is a small price to pay for all my yachts and power and vacation mansions and servants.

And with somebody as established and mainstream as Seger singing about this I think is substantial - almost a tipping point. I think his music cuts across all socioeconomic barriers - conservatives and bikers and young and old and liberals and straights all like Bob. He's as unpolarizing as you can get.

I've heard recently the rate of species extinction in the present is greater than it was when the dinosaurs suffered mass extinction. That is mind blowing. It's also mind blowing that there is an urgent worldwide need to create a a worldwide environmental Manhattan project that enlists all the resources our entire planet can muster up to just say no to global climate change. I amazed that THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT is in full view of all of us and we chose collectively to ignore it. If there is any recorded history of humanity possible in a hundred years, I don't think what humanity is doing right now will be looked at kindly.

These commercials irk me greatly

The root cause of our newest generation of wounded warriors is the illegal invasion of Iraq based on deliberate lies.

We American taxpayers spent what, over THREE TRILLION DOLLARS for an unnecessary war that was driven by traitors and war criminals?

You can take my wounded warrior donation from my portion of those THREE TRILLION tax dollars the MIC squandered on themselves. The goddamned war was engineered by a club of WAR PROFITEERS. The entire MIC is WAR PROFITEERS. The psychopaths that have captured our government are just bad ass MF’ers. Think of what kind of a human monster you have to be to create all this death and sorrow and suffering for so many families merely so you can make a lot of money? And do it by an all the way to the top conspiracy of a deliberate BIG LIE. The callous brazenness astounds! How do these animal-humans think? Is their capacity for reason no better than a rabid dog’s?

And it’s all in the name of profit, which takes trainloads of churned cash to distill down to the net profits the titans of the MIC put in their own pockets. We have to donate 95% in taxes, which gets churned into spending for military goods and all the vast other things like bases and planes and housing troops, etc., , so they can take the remaining 5%. Why don’t we just give them the 5% directly in cash instead of having to conduct all this fake wasteful war stuff just so these guys can end up with the same profits in the end?

Think of it as a bribe to the MIC to end this continuous stream of wars and invasions and terrorist producing drone attacks and our autocratic surveillance state. If we can convince them they will all end up more rich by taking direct bribes from the American public instead of concocting a false front war to get to the same result?

Protection money to our Corporate Overlords to get our Democracy back.

A huge mistake?

It's only a huge mistake if you think the POWERS THAT BE that actually run America have any interest what so ever in maintaining the USA as a Democratic Republic as envisioned by the founding fathers and maintained thusly from 1776 to around 1980 or so.

The utter dismantling of our Democracy began in earnest on September 11, 2001. That's when the PTB's decided it was all clear to turn the USA into a totalitarian fascist police state.

They rolled out THE PATRIOT ACT and signed it into law in less than EIGHT WEEKS after 9-11 happened! Our Fascists have foresight, don't they?

Do any DU mates know of any source that can provide an accurate inventory of how many of our Constitutional Rights have been nullified since 9-11? It's a damn shame we've lost so many of them, considering the millions of servicemen we lost in all those Wars that died defending the American Way of Life. Their service was all for naught. We gave away everything they sacrificed for so the PTB's could "keep us safe". I only wish the PTB's were equally earnest keeping us safe from cancer, heart disease, suicide, murder, auto accidents, and all the other deadly hazards out there that kill 2.5 million American's per year. (We're all going to die someday. My point is there's natural causes of death and preventable causes of death. If a lot of mortality in America is preventable, then why isn't our HELL-BENT-ON-KEEPING-US-ALL-SAFE Government also do something to bring that number down by means other than warrentless wiretapping or a militarized police force?)

And while I'm ranting, a little item that has slipped down the memory hole. To this day, I contend that only perhaps .1% of all Americans even know that GWB was business partners with one of Osama's older brothers?

To be fair to GWB, Osama and Salem's dad had a lot of wives and produced a lot more siblings for Osama than usual, so that increases the probability that any of us would associate with Bin Laden family members. And the Bin Laden family that found themselves in the USA immediately after 9-11 were the only people in the United States allowed to use U.S. airspace in the days immediately following 9-11. I want to know who in our government made that happen and why did they do it?

I listened to him on MSNBC last night

Really condescending, and he calls it like it's a sporting contest. It's not a sporting contest. It's Oligarch's purchasing politicians and thus our Democracy to make the formerly illegal perfectly legal again.

And for most Americans, the crash of 2008 was not about the indignity of having to use taxpayer money to bail out Wall Street to cover their bad bets and lavish upon themselves their own self imposed multi-million dollar bonuses for doing God's work.

It was about the actions of these greedheads directly triggering the GREAT RECESSION OF 2008. We narrowly averted another GREAT DEPRESSION and there's a lot of foreclosed and laid off Americans and American's just one paycheck away from bankruptcy that can now clearly understand that our government serves the ultra-wealthy by screwing over the rest of us.

This despicable trick shows just how craven and morally bankrupt the Republicans in Congress really are. And how they don't represent the people that elect them in any way shape or form.

John Kiriakou has been in prison for perhaps a year now, not for committing the torture, but for BLOWING THE WHISTLE AND GOING PUBLIC ON THE ENTIRE AMERICAN TORTURE SYSTEM.

So the only person our entire land of the free home of the brave country punishes for our official policy of torture was an honorable man trying to stop something he knew was wrong and it was his sworn duty to do what he could to stop it.

YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE of how much it sucks to be a government whistle blower these days and also how much the people that run our country have completely lost all sense of honor, duty and basic human decency. Not to mention stupid because it only takes ten minutes on the google to learn how ineffective and low quality torture is for gaining intelligence.

Not only did they squander every principal our country used to stand for since the Revolution, but they were too stupid to comprehend that torture doesn't even fucking work!

It's amazing the magnitude of evil the MIC is capable of, all in the name of fomenting wars so they can make gazillions of dollars. We need a Truman style prosecution of our modern WAR PROFITEERS. A good starting point would be arresting every person that ever served in the GWB White House during his two shit stained terms.
