If they block Bernie and he wins the presidency, they look like idiots.

If they let him get on the court, they would look impotent, and decades of their work to establish an oligarchy could be undone in a few years.

That would be the ultimate karma for eight years of obstructing Obama and for that matter, ten years of talking about Bill Clinton's penis.

What will DLC/centrists/New Democrats in House & Senate do if Bernie is elected president?

Will they follow his lead or side with Republicans in obstructing his agenda?

Quite frankly, that branch of the party is all for party loyalty when they are the beneficiaries.

But if they have to choose between progressive Democratic colleagues or even progressive constituents on the one hand and big donors on the other, they usually go with the money.

If you were born after the end of the Cold War, do you have a visceral reaction to "Socialist"?

or even Communist?

or does it have as much impact as whig, federalist, or the silly walk party?

I am old enough to remember the Cold War, and for all of the Cold War propaganda, I never had the visceral reaction to socialist or even communist the way I do to Nazi, Ku Klux Klan, or to a lesser extent, fascist.

I'm guessing that's even more true for those who grew up after the threat of Mutually Assured Destruction dialed down.

But I could be wrong.
