Leningrad Lindsey: Jan. 6 hearings 'will not age well'

WASHINGTON (WBTW) — Sen. Lindsey Graham took to Twitter Wednesday afternoon to blast the ongoing hearings about the Jan. 6 storming of former President Donald Trump’s supporters at the U.S. Capitol.
“It remains unchanged that January 6 was a dark day in American history,” Graham ended a Twitter thread, which began with him sharing a Fox News article refuting testimony that Trump lunged to take the wheel away from a Secret Service agent in order to drive to the Capitol. “But this committee’s efforts to politicize the events in a sham, one-sided Star Chamber tribunal, will not end well.”
The tweets come a day after Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aid, told the Jan. 6 committee that Trump became “irate” after he was told he couldn’t join his supporters.
Graham questioned media coverage of the testimony.

Charges for Trump, others not a 'principal interest': Jan. 6 committee's Jamie Raskin

Rep. Jamie Raskin, a member of the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol, said Sunday that criminal charges against the people involved in trying to overturn the 2020 election -- including former President Donald Trump -- were not his "principal interest" compared to understanding how the violence unfolded to avoid it being repeated.
"Our democracy is on the line here. Our Constitution is at stake. Are we going to have violent assaults against our elections? Are we going to have politicians who, disappointed with the results, try to overthrow the election and just seize power? Is that what American democracy is going to look like in the 21st century?" the Maryland Democrat told "This Week" co-anchor Martha Raddatz.
"So, for me, I'm principally interested in telling the American people the truth so we can fortify our institution against coups and insurrections going forward," Raskin continued.

She Lost the GA Guv Race By 70 Points. She Still Won’t Concede.

Far-right favorite Kandiss Taylor received just 3.4 percent of the vote in Georgia’s GOP primary for governor on Tuesday, less than one-twentieth of current Gov. Brian Kemp’s 73.7 percent of the vote. But that isn’t stopping Taylor from refusing to concede and claiming the election was “rigged.”

Taylor, a Trump loyalist who campaigned with the slogan “Jesus Guns Babies” and promised to “stand up to the Luciferian Cabal,” simply believes it’s impossible that she lost this spectacularly.

“We have a national data team working on the 2022 primary election fraud. More will be forthcoming,” Taylor campaign spokesperson Christi Maude told The Daily Beast. “Dr. Kandiss Taylor does not concede.”

'The Palm Republic': Group plans to 'declare independence' from South Carolina

ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD) – Some Isle of Palms residents are expected to “declare independence” from South Carolina as they look to form “The Palm Republic.”
It stems from when a small group opposed Gov. Henry McMaster’s decision to close the beaches at the height of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
The effort, by former and current leaders on the Isle of Palms, including former mayor Jimmy Carroll, said the decision is to protect what they call illegal action from the state. Those issues include beach parking and other traffic-related issues by the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
“The Palm Republic will exist as a free and sovereign republic that re-establishes Home Rule, which was unilaterally and illegally stripped from the Isle of Palms upon the passage of S. 40 in 2021,” organizers said Wednesday.
