The funy things that are said by Darrell Issa - Americas Poor are envy of the world

Darrell Issa, the richest man in Congress, said America has made "our poor somewhat the envy of the world."

Asked by CNNMoney whether he feels personally responsible to address income inequality in the United States, the Republican Congressman from California said "absolutely." But he noted that America is the richest country on earth and implied that those in poverty here are better off than the poor in other nations.

School That Teaches Abstinence Education Experiences Chlamydia Outbreak

A small high school in Texas is currently grappling with an STD outbreak, as 20 cases of chlamydia have been confirmed among the student population. Since Crane High School only has about 300 students, that means about one in 15 kids there has been infected. School district officials sent out letters to the parents of high schoolers and middle schoolers to inform them of the “growing problem.”
The outbreak is putting the spotlight on the potential gaps in education in the Crane Independent School District. As Raw Story notes, the West Texas district does not currently offer a regular sex ed course that’s integrated into students’ health classes. High schoolers receive just three days of optional sexual health education during the fall semester, and those materials are centered on abstinence.

Waitress Gives Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback A Tip

A waitress serving Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback (R) Saturday evening didn't ask for a tip -- instead, she left one for the governor.

No, not that kind of tip. On Brownback’s receipt, Chloe Hough crossed out the line where customers can add gratuity and wrote: “Tip the schools.”

Bernie Sanders hair is a problem

A very large portion of the public (outside DU) and many comedians are laughing at Bernie ' s hair do. He has to get past that unless he wants to the Donald Trump of the left.

Is Berniemania about what Bernie offers? or...

Is it more about what or who he isn't?

Much of the contents of this evenings threads seems to be about trying to convince everyone that he is not Hillary. At least that is my observation.

Kentucky fans keep licking Devin Booker's car door

The weird Kentucky fandom continues.

Kentucky fans have decided now is the time to lick players' cars:

Apparently this all started during an autograph signing in Kentucky, which Booker explained in an interview:

Um, someone told me "they did something to your car out there, I'm not gonna tell you," so i said "What was it?" and they said "a girl licked your car."

So now a bunch of people are licking his car.

A Republican President in 2016 will mean war

I just want to put that on record that if a republican is elected in 2016, they will take this country to war.

If not Iran, some other middle east country will be a victim of the militarism of a GOP President. All the current clowns in the GOP clown car, support bombing Iran and they are all funded by the military industrial complex.

Bookmark this and then come back to it in 4 years if there is a republican president, we will be at war.

Robert Schuller, Crystal Cathedral megachurch founder, dies

ARTESIA, Calif. (AP) — The Rev. Robert H. Schuller, the Southern California televangelist and author who beamed his upbeat messages on faith and redemption to millions from his landmark Crystal Cathedral only to see his empire crumble in his waning years, has died. He was 88.

Schuller died early Thursday at a care facility in Artesia, daughter Carol Schuller Milner said. In 2013, Schuller was diagnosed with a tumor in his esophagus that had spread to his lymph nodes and began treatment.

Final Four coaches release statement on Indiana's new law

All four head coaches of the Final Four teams in the Men's NCAA Tournament released a statement Wednesday, defending the NCAA's stance on Indiana's new religious freedom law.

"We are aware of the recent actions in Indiana and have made a point to talk about this sensitive and important issue among ourselves and with our teams. Each of us strongly supports the positions of the NCAA and our respective institutions on this matter — that discrimination of any kind should not be tolerated. As a part of America's higher education system, college basketball plays an important role in diversity, equality, fairness and inclusion, and will continue to do so in the future."

The four coaches, Kentucky's John Calipari, Michigan State's Tom Izzo, Wisconsin's Bo Ryan and Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, made the statement during a conference call. Their statement defends the one the NCAA released soon after the bill was signed.
