Memories Pizza could become a memory - Indiana Pizzeria Won’t Serve Same-Sex Marriages

A local Indiana ABC station spoke to a pizzeria Tuesday night who will not serve to same-sex marriages after the Indiana law was passed.

"If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no," Memories Pizza owner Crystal O'Connor told ABC 57. "We are a Christian establishment."

O'Connor said the business is not discriminating against anybody, but she and her family has her beliefs and other people are entitled to their own.

"We definitely agree with the bill," she added, saying she doesn't think the bill targets gays or discriminates but instead protects businesses like hers who have a religious belief.

O'Reilly Cameraman Disputes Fox News Host's Falklands "War Zone" Story

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly continues to insist that he never misrepresented or embellished his wartime reporting experiences and other previous episodes—even after CNN, the Washington Post, the Guardian, Media Matters, and Mother Jones reported significant discrepancies between O'Reilly's accounts and what actually occurred. Last Tuesday, O'Reilly appeared on David Letterman's show, where he maintained he had always been "accurate" when discussing his journalistic exploits and had never "fibbed" on air. ("Not that I know of," he said.) Yet O'Reilly's characterizations of his reporting during the Falklands war, El Salvador's civil war, the troubles in Northern Ireland, the Los Angeles riots of 1992, and the 1977 re-investigation of the John F. Kennedy assassination have been repeatedly challenged, in several cases by former colleagues. Now a principal character in one of O'Reilly's more dramatic tales—in which the Fox commentator plays a heroic role—says this particular story is not accurate.

In recounting his experiences as a CBS News correspondent reporting from a "war zone" during the 1982 Falklands war, O'Reilly has said that he rescued a CBS colleague during a violent protest that erupted near the presidential palace in Buenos Aires after Argentina surrendered to the British. During a 2013 episode of the O'Reilly Factor, he recalled:

I was in a situation one time, in a war zone in Argentina, in the Falklands, where my photographer got run down and then hit his head and was bleeding from the ear on the concrete. And the army was chasing us. I had to make a decision. And I dragged him off, you know, but at the same time, I'm looking around and trying to do my job, but I figure I had to get this guy out of there because that was more important.

Disgusting! pure discusting disrepspect!

A photographer named Matthew Munson took several photos during a recent visit to Washington, D.C., and one in particular is stirring up conversation about American history, parenting, and respect.

Munson shared his photos to Facebook, and there's some standard DC fare—that obelisk called the Washington Monument, some military memorials.

But one of Munson's memorial photos speaks volumes without making a sound.

It's an image of the Vietnam Women's Memorial, which serves to honor the women who served during the U.S. war with Vietnam, from 1955 to 1975. Atop this statue is a young girl using it like playground equipment. On the ground, another young girl appears to be climbing up. All this as a military veteran in a wheelchair, presumably escorted by family members, goes by.

The man pushing the veteran's wheelchair has a look of palpable disgust. The veteran himself has an unplaceable, one-of-a-kind look that hardly suggests pleasant thoughts. And Munson's Internet audience, chiming in with their comments on this particular photo, are similarly disappointed.

"Obviously, these kids have no veterans in their family, and their parents have absolutely NO IDEA what it means to sacrifice ALL for your country! Dispicable on the parent's behalf."

"Holy hell! Maybe afterwards the parents could take their kids on a nice tomato throwing spree at a cathedral. Please understand, I'm not blaming the kids."

"There is no respect taught to children anymore? That is the shame on the parents."

Ted Cruz's Karl Rove - update

Yesterday I posted an article about Ted Cruz's Karl Rove, Jeff Roe.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10026409017

I indicated in that post that I knew the asshole and went to school with that asshole. Last night I mentioned it to my wife. As soon as I mentioned the name Jeff Roe, she immediately recalled when this asshole used to make obscene phone calls to our house.

This guy is a special one and cut out to be a dirty asshole!

Ted Cruz is Going on Obamacare

The Goldman Sachs health insurance plan has lost a high profile customer. Texas Senator Ted Cruz is going on Obamacare. With his wife Heidi taking leave to help her husband campaign for president, the Cruzes are leaving the $20,000 per year coverage she enjoyed at Goldman.

"We will presumably go on the exchange and sign up for health care and we're in the process of transitioning over to do that," Cruz told the Des Moines Register's Jennifer Jacobs. "It is written in the law that members will be on the exchanges without subsidies just like millions of Americans... I think the same rules should apply to all of us."

Heidi Cruz's coverage became the subject of a small media tempest in 2013, after Cruz and House conservatives insisted on de-funding the ACA through the appropriations process. After the resultant government shutdown ended, Heidi Cruz confirmed that she was covered, and her husband benefited from Goldman's generous plan. It was a rare and tooth-pulling mention of Heidi Cruz's career. Even in his announcement speech, at Liberty University, Cruz talked at length about his wife's success but

Meet Ted Cruz's Karl Rove: "He Leaves a Path of Destruction"

When I opened this story, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

It was no surprise on Monday when Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) formally announced his presidential bid. By last summer, he was making key hires for his campaign crew. And this included recruiting a controversial Missouri-based political operative named Jeff Roe, who is known for his ruthless, bare-knuckled style and who has recently been in the news due to a tragic death.

Following the apparent suicide last month of Missouri state auditor Tom Schweich, who was a Republican gubernatorial candidate, Republican legislators and party elders in the state denounced the toxic culture within the state GOP and pointed to it as a cause of Schweich's death. And some cited Roe as a prime purveyor of the political hardball and scorched-earth tactics that have transformed many Missouri elections into mud-drenched campaigns of personal destruction. There's no evidence linking Roe to the anti-Semitic "whisper campaign" that seems to have deeply troubled Schweich in the days prior to his death. But Roe's merciless style has been legend in Missouri for over a decade. And now he is poised to practice his brand of political blood sport against Cruz's 2016 rivals.

Roe, who's been dubbed the "Karl Rove of Missouri," got his start in politics in 1994, working for Sam Graves, then a GOP state representative from northwestern Missouri running for state Senate. With Roe's help, Graves won that race. Six years later, in 2000, Roe masterminded Graves' successful campaign for Congress.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing because, I know this asshole, I went to school with this asshole, he is in my fraternity. OMG! This asshole will make Karl Rove look like a child.

Glenn Beck on Wednesday announced he is leaving the Republican Party

“I’ve made my decision — I’m out,” Beck said Wednesday on “The Glenn Beck Program,” his broadcast on TheBlaze.com. “I’m out of the Republican Party. I am not a Republican. I will not give a dime to the Republican Party. I’m out.”

The host said Republicans lost him with their inaction on both ObamaCare and illegal immigration.

“All this stuff that they said and they ran and they said they were doing all of these great things and they were going to stand against ObamaCare and illegal immigration — they set us up,” Beck added. “They set us up. Enough is enough. They’re torpedoing the Constitution and they’re doing it knowingly.”

The former Fox News pundit also took issue with the GOP’s treatment of Tea Party lawmakers. Beck said that establishment Republicans had disrespected Sens. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), a likely 2016 GOP presidential candidate.

“They’re taking on people like Mike Lee and Ted Cruz and they’re torpedoing them,” Beck said. “And these guys are standing for the Constitution.”

Arizona lawman Arpaio agrees to sanctions for civil contempt

(Reuters) - Controversial Arizona lawman Joe Arpaio, who bills himself "America's Toughest Sheriff," and his chief deputy offered on Tuesday to accept civil sanctions for contempt of court, ahead of a hearing next month in a federal court in Phoenix.

U.S. District Court Judge Murray Snow ordered the four-day hearing, which could lead to penalties, such as fines or jail time for six-time sheriff Arpaio, four other individuals, and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Snow said there were grounds for the hearing after Arpaio failed to comply with a court order to stop immigration enforcement operations and turn over evidence to opposing trial lawyers, among other issues.

Lawyers for Arpaio, 82, who has vowed to run for a seventh term as sheriff, acknowledged the problems, saying they would not present evidence at the hearing to counter Snow's points.
