TRIGGERED.

Poor little white male misogynous pig, you cite one law from the Middle Ages in order to roll back women’s rights for the 21st Century and everyone’s up in your shit, amirite?

Or, to quote Alito in his own ruling, the justices “cannot allow our decisions to be affected by any extraneous influences such as concern about the public’s reaction to our work.” So stop whining now, pal!

"9 seconds is longer than you think."

So true! I remember NPR did a piece on the Northridge earthquake back in 1994. The quake lasted 15 seconds, so they went silent for 15 seconds to illustrate how long that is. It was a looooong radio silence.

In this case, nine seconds is long enough to have this conversation (or one like it):

WH: Were you able to get into Pelosi's office?

Rioter: Yes.

WH: Did you get the file folder marked "Top Secret"?

Rioter: Yes.

(call ends)

DeSantis has a new racist dog whistle: "Martha's Vineyard."

It's not the "monied elites" they hate (after all, they are monied elites themselves), and it's more than their disdain for "libruls". It's ALL about the fact that the Obamas just bought a house there. That's why DeSantis has targeted this specific liberal enclave in his speeches and actions.

Yes, it would have been cheaper to send them to Boston,

Which would have services in place to assist the migrants. They went out of their way to send them to a small island, no matter how wealthy the island is. My guess is they chose Martha’s Vineyard because the Obamas just bought a vacation home there.

All words are made up - and this post is bigoted. Alerting.

Language is amorphous, words and phases arise and disappear continuously. Cis is not a made-up word, certainly not more made up than cunt, a "made-up" word that is used to demean and shame 51% of the population. Cis is short for cisgender, and is the antonym of transgender, and both words come from Latin - like much of English.

Also, noting that trans kids have higher rates of suicide and depression than straight kids doesn't mean straight kids don't get bullied, depressed and suicidal, wtf?! Your prejudice is clear, not only with comparing trans people go to frogs (how insulting can you be?), but when you think a conversation that involves the word "cis" somehow shames 97% of the population, you're really telling on yourself. No one is shaming you for being straight, but you're doing your damnedest to shame trans people.

They're banking on it not going through the Senate.

They know it's incredibly unpopular, so much so that they may end up losing both houses. But it riles up the base and keeps the party line going: "See? We could live in paradise if it weren't for the libtards! (And women, and Black people, and Asian people, and brown people, and children post-birth, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.)"

It ain't just school librarians getting harassed and fired.

Public librarians are also quitting in fear and frustration over armed Proud Boys protests at Drag Queen Storytimes, the infamous "400 books to be banned" brought by Moms for Liberty before library boards and city council meetings, and draconian budget cuts in majority QAnon towns.

Or as my librarian coworker confided in me, "It's bonkers! I told my therapist this is the first time I've ever felt under attack for helping people!"
