It is easy to focus on the things that did not get done (yet) and it is important to keep fighting for those things.
But Biden and the Democrats have gotten an enormous amount of great things done this year!
Check out 100 of them! Share it with your friends! Post it in your social media! Sing it from the tree tops!
1. Democrats are running a real and important investigation into January 6th
This investigation is being done so well. There are so many articles I could put here. Ill just grab a couple. This is huge, important work.
The Jan. 6 select panel has started receiving documents from former President Donald Trumps White House.
The documents suggest that the committee will get a wide variety of materials some of which may be quotidian.
Were not messing around here.
People with relevant information to our investigation into January 6 must comply with lawful subpoenas.
If they dont, we will use all the tools at our disposal including criminal contempt.

2. Biden got the US is back in the UN Human Rights Council
Remember when we were such an embarrassment that we werent even allowed to weigh in on other countrys human rights? Who changed that? Democrats.

3. Biden expanded wind farms
Biden has been working behind the scenes to make huge changes in energy production. This is one outcome.
Biden administration announces plans for massive expansion of wind farms off US coasts
The move was announced Wednesday by US Interior Secretary Deb Haaland and first reported by The New York Times.
Haaland said the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is exploring leasing sales along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, in the Gulf of Maine, the New York Bight, the central Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico, as well as off the Carolinas, California and Oregon.
The administration in March announced a coordinated effort to bolster offshore wind energy projects in the United States in order to jump-start a "clean energy revolution."
As part of that initiative, which spans multiple government agencies, the Departments of the Interior, Energy and Commerce committed to a shared goal of generating 30 gigawatts of offshore wind in the US by 2030. The Interior Department estimates that reaching that goal would create nearly 80,000 jobs.
4. Biden reduced Covid with vaccine mandates
Biden took a potential hit and a lot of anger for his vaccine mandates. Guess what? They work and are getting us closer to ending this nightmare.
Faced with losing their jobs, even the most hesitant are getting vaccinated
Nowhere is that more apparent than at United Airlines. On Aug. 6, United became the first U.S. airline to tell its workers to get vaccinated against COVID-19 if they wanted to keep their jobs.
The company says 99.5% of United employees have been vaccinated, not counting the roughly 2,000 who have applied for religious or medical exemptions. Elsewhere, other employers also report success with mandates. Tyson Foods, New York City schools, major hospital systems in Maine and the NBA are among those with vaccination rates topping 90%.
5. Bidens smart actions saved us from a shipping disaster

Two men went into a local post office in Ireland on Friday to try and make a quick buck off a dead mans pensionand, naturally, they brought the body with them.
In an incident almost eerily reminiscent of Weekend at Bernies, one man initially tried to enter Hoseys shop and post office in the Irish town of Carlow to claim the pension on behalf of another man. He was told no, and he later returned with two other menone breathing, one notto claim the payment, according to the Irish Times.
The post office staff was then alerted by a suspicious customer that the man may not be conscious, prompting the staff to refuse the request and call the Gardaí, the Irish police force. Once the men realized their jig was up, they dropped the body and fled. The elderly man, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jane Mayer: Is Ginni Thomas a Threat to the Supreme Court?
https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2022/01/31/is-ginni-thomas-a-threat-to-the-supreme-courtIs Ginni Thomas a Threat to the Supreme Court?
Behind closed doors, Justice Clarence Thomass wife is working with many groups directly involved in controversial cases before the Court.

The claim that the Justices opinions are politically neutral is becoming increasingly hard to accept, especially from Thomas, whose wife, Virginia (Ginni) Thomas, is a vocal right-wing activist. She has declared that America is in existential danger because of the deep state and the fascist left, which includes transsexual fascists. Thomas, a lawyer who runs a small political-lobbying firm, Liberty Consulting, has become a prominent member of various hard-line groups. Ginni Thomass political activism has caused controversy for years. For the most part, it has been dismissed as the harmless action of an independent spouse. But now the Court appears likely to secure victories for her allies in a number of highly polarizing caseson abortion, affirmative action, and gun rights.
Many Americans first became aware of Ginni Thomass activism on January 6, 2021. That morning, before the Stop the Steal rally in Washington, D.C., turned into an assault on the Capitol resulting in the deaths of at least five people, she cheered on the supporters of President Donald Trump who had gathered to overturn Bidens election. In a Facebook post that went viral, she linked to a news item about the protest, writing, LOVE MAGA people!!!! Shortly afterward, she posted about Ronald Reagans famous A Time for Choosing speech. Her next status update said, GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU STANDING UP or PRAYING. Two days after the insurrection, she added a disclaimer to her feed, noting that shed written the posts before violence in US Capitol. (The posts are no longer public.)

For lawyers involved in cases before the Supreme Court, it can be deeply disturbing to know that Ginni Thomas is an additional opponent. In 2019, David Dinielli, the visiting lecturer at Yale Law School, was a deputy legal director of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which had submitted an amicus brief in a gay-rights case before the Court. He told me he was acutely aware that Ginni Thomas and other members of the Council for National Policy loathed the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks right-wing hate groups. In 2017, C.N.P. Action directed its members to commit to issuing one new post on Facebook and Twitter each week about the Southern Poverty Law Center to discredit them. In Thomass leaked 2018 speech to the Council for National Policy, she denounced the S.P.L.C. for calling the Family Research Councilwhich is militantly opposed to L.G.B.T.Q. rightsa hate group.
For Dinielli, the idea that a Justices spouse belonged to a group that had urged its members to repeatedly attack his organization was counter to everything youd expect if you want to get a fair shake before the Court. He explained, These activities arent just political. Theyre aimed at raising up or denigrating actors specifically in front of the Supreme Court. Shes one step away from holding up a sign in front of her husband saying This person is a pedophile.
Dinielli went on, The Justices sit literally above where the lawyers are. For these people to do the job they were tasked with, they have to maintain that level. But this degrades it, mocks it, and threatens it. He warned, Since the Court doesnt have an army, it relies on how it behaves to command respect. Once the veneer cracks, its very hard to get it back. ?
Eric Boehlert: Biden's getting doomsday press -- just like Obama did
Biden's getting doomsday press just like Obama did
Here we go again

It wouldnt be surprising if President Joe Biden felt a strong sense of déjà vu as he marked his first year in office and the D.C. press eagerly writes him off as a failure buried by a mountain of crises, while at the same time erasing his accomplishments. (Record job gains, ending the Forever War.) Reading from GOP talking points, journalists remain in hyperventilation mode, obsessively detailing Bidens soft polling numbers while loudly and falsely claiming he cant get his key legislative initiatives passed into law.
Bidens lurking sense of been-here-before would be driven by the fact that as Barack Obamas vice president, he watched the same media story play out under a different Democratic administration. Hounded by a D.C. press corps that was often obsessed with tagging Obama as a failure, depicting him as overwhelmed and outsmarted by Republicans, and occasionally just losing its mind over relatively minor unfolding stories (remember Ebola and the glitchy Obamacare website?), the press misjudged one of the most successful and popular presidents of the last half century.
Today, the Beltway media remains in groupthink mode (CNN headline: Is Biden's Presidency Doomed?), with everyone eagerly hitting the same points regardless of the facts. "For now, virtually none of the groups that fueled Bidens 2020 victory are happy, the Associated Press recently reported, despite the fact that polling shows 80-plus percent of Democratic voters approve of Bidens performance in office.
The Washington Post published a long obituary on Bidens presidency this week, casting his first year in office as a failure. (Disarray, tensions, worry, stumbled.) Left unmentioned in the articles 43 paragraphs was the fact that a record 6.4 million new jobs have been created since Biden took office, and that the U.S. now enjoys full employment with workers earning all-time high wages.

Fox News Sean Hannity sent then-White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany a plan to handle then-President Donald Trump the day after the deadly U.S. Capitol riot, according to newly released text messages.
Hannity messaged McEnany on Jan. 7, 2021, with a five point approach for conversations with Trump, according to a letter that the House committee investigating the Trump-incited violence released on Thursday. The letter, directed at daughter Ivanka Trump, asked her to submit to questioning by the panel.
The first two items on Hannitys plan of action read:
1- No more stolen election talk
2- Yes, impeachment and 25th amendment are real, and many people will quit
The letter did not reveal the third through fifth points.
McEnany responded: Love that. Thank you. That is the playbook. I will help reinforce, per the committee.

Hannity told McEnany it was key that no more crazy people were allowed access to the then-president.
Yes 100%, McEnany, who is now a host on the conservative network, replied.

The House Veterans Affairs Committee took Wednesday as an opportunity to hold a virtual hearing on how toxic chemicals are killing U.S. soldiers. Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) took the hearing as an opportunity to clean his gun.
Cawthorn, the youngest current member of Congress, fiddled with his black pistol while one witness explained how university medical researchers could help the government examine how burn pits are harming military service members.
It was immature. Hes a child. He lacks common sense. I think the congressman was overcompensating for something that he lacks and feeling inadequate among the heroes on that call, said John Feal, a 9/11 first responder who was at the virtual meeting.
Feal was one of at least two people at the Veterans Affairs meeting who noticed what Cawthorn was doing. Both were infuriated. But the general public couldnt see it, because the two-hour virtual hearing was held over Zoomwhich meant that those tuning in could only see the person speaking.

1/6 Committee Is Already Getting Documents That Trump Tried To Hide

1/6 Committee Is Already Getting Documents That Trump Tried To Hide
Thanks to the Supreme Court rejecting his executive privilege claim, the 1/6 Committee is already getting documents that Trump tried to hide.
After the SCOTUS ruling, the Committee tweeted:
https://twitter.com/January6thCmte/status/1483976803849015297?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1483976803849015297%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.politicususa.com%2F%3Fp%3D382767
Trump is trying to run Liz Cheney out of the Republican Party, and she is going to have access to over 700 pages of possibly incriminating documents that Trump tried to hide.
Donald Trump lost at the Supreme Court for the same reason that he lost the case in the lower courts. He could not provide any reason why the documents should be hidden from public view. It turns out that wanting to hide information from investigators because it is bad for you is not a valid legal argument.
The Committee probably had a lot of the information in those documents from witness testimony, but the docs represent physical proof of what Trump was doing and what was happening at the White House before, during, and after the Capitol attack.
The 1/6 investigation has taken a huge leap forward, and Trumps idea of executive privilege for life was crushed by the Supreme Court.
"...What are Republicans for? What are they for? Name me one thing they're for."
