Remember last week when irony shot itself last week? Well....

It survived and just got murdered

https://twitter.com/BrianKarem/status/1181926641641152514

Good morning world. Per POTUS schedule: "The president’s only public event today is a 3:15 pm signing of an executive order on “transparency in federal guidance and enforcement.”
Irony? Place your own punchline. I'm already tired. @realDonaldTrump

Turkey coordinating impending Syrian invasion (Kurdish area) with Russia. Surprise!

Is
A bad situation in Northeast Syria is about to get much worse. Sources tell me that US officials have just informed the Syrian Kurds that Turkey is likely to attack on air and ground in next 24 hours. The US will do nothing. Targets are Tal Abyad and Ras al Ayn....

..Ironically Tal Abyad was the main supply route for ISIS in 2014-15 through an open border from Turkey. Turkey refused repeated requests from US to shut border. That's a big reason why US decided to partner with SDF, which took the town in the summer of 2015.

...I'm also told that Turkish attack appears coordinated with the Russians. Russian-backed forces are mobilizing to invade the Kurdish area from the south — towards Tabqa and other spots. Meanwhile, ISIS is mobilizing sleeper cells in Raqqa and attacks have taken place tonight.

SocGen says this is the 'worst-case scenario' of U.S. clampdown on capital flows to China

SocGen says this is the ‘worst-case scenario’ of U.S. clampdown on capital flows to China

China’s onshore stock market is up around 27% this year

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/socgen-says-this-is-the-worst-case-scenario-of-us-clampdown-on-capital-flows-to-china-2019-10-08

The latest concern is talk of capping the flow of U.S. capital into Chinese companies which comes at a precarious time for investors who are banking on the success of trade negotiations this week in Washington D.C.

Société Générale analysts say continued discussions of measures to limit U.S. investments in China could upend the impressive performance of its onshore stock-market this year.

“Broadly speaking, we can define three stages in the rising economic tensions between the two countries,” Société Générale argued in a note Tuesday. “The first stage started with the tariffs dispute and is ongoing. The second stage extends the conflict to China investment to the US (CFIUS) and export controls (through the Export Control Act and the Entity List). The third stage might involve restrictions on US capital funding Chinese firms. It has not started but that is a risk that we have advised to hedge,” they said.

It’s the third step that represents the “worst-case scenario” for Chinese equities, said the Société Générale analysts, adding that such measures could include preventing U.S.-based stock index providers from putting Chinese stocks in benchmarks pegged to trillions of dollars of assets.

Overwhelming Confirmation of Whistleblower Complaint: An Annotation

Overwhelming Confirmation of Whistleblower Complaint: An Annotation
https://www.justsecurity.org/66475/ukraine-ukrainegate-overwhelming-confirmation-of-whistleblower-complaint-an-annotation/

As the following analysis clearly demonstrates, an overwhelming percentage of the whistleblower’s complaint in Ukrainegate has been confirmed by U.S. government documents, witness statements, and independent investigative reports. We highlight all the key portions of the complaint that have been confirmed or corroborated, and we include links to the sources confirming or corroborating the information. The most significant sources include the official rough transcript of the July 25 call between President Trump and President Zelenskyy, text messages between three U.S. diplomats and Ukrainian officials, the written testimony of the then-US special envoy to Ukraine Paul Volker, and, finally, reliable news reports. It is also worth noting that the Inspector General for the Intelligence Community concluded the whistleblower’s report appeared credible after conducting a review including interviews with witnesses.

Text in blue font in the whistleblower’s complaint designates statements that have been confirmed or corroborated. Text in black font should not be considered untrue or refuted.

From court today: Impeachment is NOT just about Ukraine

The HJC is in court to obtain mueller grand jury materials. As part of the arguments came this nugget:

https://twitter.com/dsamuelsohn/status/1181581666692816897

Letter says Pelosi has not limited the impeachment inquiry to Ukraine. He explains how the 6 committees will get together and share their potential articles against Trump to House leadership. Then HJC will report any articles to the full House.

That extra $140 million to Ukraine. Looks like it was essentially a bribe

https://twitter.com/steen_lauren/status/1175307994374004736

Those Ukrainian businesses wanted $140 million from Russia. The Hague cited with them but Russia of course didn’t recognize the Hague’s decision. So now we’ve got the amount…

I think Trump while trying to play peacemaker between Ukraine and Russia.. probably trying to take credit for the troops pulling out of Donbas... offered Ukraine $250 million for military spending & $140 million to compensate for the Hague’s decision

Russia attacked Ukraine yesterday! How was this not covered widely and loudly?

Ukraine reports 1 KIA, 2 WIA's amid 32 enemy attacks in Donbas on Oct 4

https://www.unian.info/m/war/10709802-ukraine-reports-1-kia-2-wia-s-amid-32-enemy-attacks-in-donbas-on-oct-4.html

Russia's hybrid military forces on October 4 mounted 32 attacks on Ukrainian Army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action (KIA) and another two as wounded in action (WIA).

"The armed forces of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries violated the ceasefire 32 times on October 4. One Ukrainian soldier was killed and another two were wounded as a result of enemy shelling. The circumstances are being established by an ad hoc group of Ukraine's military law enforcement service. The Command of the Joint Forces expresses condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation Headquarters said in an update posted on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on October 5.

The enemy opened fire from proscribed 120mm and 82mm mortars, cannons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of various types, and small arms. Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the towns of Avdiyivka, Maryinka, and Zolote, and the villages of Vodiane, Pavlopil, Novohnativka, Novotroyitske, Lebedynske, Bohdanivka, Verkhniotoretske, Novoluhanske, Luhanske, Myronivske, Zaitseve, Krymske, and Novotoshkivske.

• Arabiya staffer in Critical condition, others injured

• Police refrained from help (Arabiya)

These are the few stations left covering the protests from Baghdad. Attacking them could be to prevent coverage.

Also shows both #Iraq Gov complacency in protecting press or worse collusion if reports are true that the Iraqi police refrained.

Thoughts with colleagues attacked..
