Buckle up. Paul Manaforts trial date has been set: Monday, September 17.

A judge in Washington on Wednesday said she was setting a Sept. 17 trial date for former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort on charges from special counsel Robert Mueller including money laundering and failing to register as a foreign agent.

The decision from U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson would put Manafort on trial at the height of the midterm campaign season, a potentially unwelcome distraction for Republicans as they try to maintain majorities in Congress.

Yes, They really are DEPLORABLES...

These two paragraphs, about the dregs of our society trying to ruin the life of a teenager who’d just lost 17 schoolmates in a massacre, are nauseating.

My Alma Mater! SDSU Offering course called 'Trump: Impeachment, Removal, or Conviction?'

San Diego State University is offering a new course called: "Trump: Impeachment, Removal, or Conviction."

A description of the course says the focus will be on the two constitutional grounds: "Impeachment and removal (25th Amendment)," KUSI News reported.

It will include lessons on possible charges of the independent counsel and the powers of the president. Students in the class will also learn about "presidential immunity from indictment, and grounds for impeachment, removal, or indictment."

Topics will range from conflict of interests to obstruction of justice and religious bias.
The course is a one-credit class and is part of a criminal justice program at the university's College of Extended Studies.

The university told the San Diego TV station that the course will present an "overall framework of impeachment, removal or criminal investigation of a president."

GOP lawmaker suggests guns could have saved Jews in Holocaust

GOP lawmaker: 'How many Jews were put in the ovens because they were unarmed?'

Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) reportedly questioned how many Jews were "put in the ovens" because they didn't have guns to arm themselves.

“How many millions of people were shot and killed because they were unarmed? Fifty million in Russia,” Young said, according to Alaska Public Media.

“How many Jews were put in the ovens because they were unarmed?”

The comments reportedly came as Young was speaking during a conference in Juneau and was asked about school safety.

Alaska Public Media Dimitri Shein, an Anchorage Democrat who is running for Young’s seat and was in the audience for his speech to the Alaska Municipal League last week, provided a recording of the comments.

THE CRISIS ACTOR CLAIM - A CLASSIC DIXIE DOG WHISTLE

White supremacists are the opposite of intelligent. To get their way in the U.S. they rely on a combination of structural racism, lies, violence, projection and a fanatical enthusiasm for returning to their own vomit again and again and again.

That’s why the right wing is claiming some of the students who survived the mass murder at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are crisis actors.

Sixty-one years before teens at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., would survive a mass shooting only to be labeled “crisis actors,” the nine African American teens who braved racist crowds to enroll in Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas were also accused of being impostors.

False rumors that the Little Rock Nine were paid protesters even forced the NAACP to issue a statement condemning the stories as “pure propaganda.” The students were not, in fact, “imported” from the North, said the NAACP’s Clarence A. Laws, but rather the children of local residents, including veterans.

The crisis actor slur dates back to shortly after the Civil War, when former slaves who testified before Congress were slandered by Southern politicians as stooges paid to lie about their experiences, according to Boston College history professor Heather Cox Richardson.

In December 1865, six months after the war’s end, Congress convened a special Joint Committee on Reconstruction to “inquire into the condition of the States which formed the so-called Confederate States of America, and report whether they, or any of them, are entitled to be represented in either house of Congress.”

Exiting Trump officials get cold shoulder from job market

Current and former high-ranking Trump administration officials are testing the waters of Washington’s job market as the administration begins its second year.

And that water, right now, is pretty tepid.

Lobbyists, headhunters and others involved in hiring processes told The Hill that phones have been ringing.

They have been hearing from Trump administration officials who are eyeing the exits, wondering how much they could earn in the private sector and what their next steps should be.

Some officials who have recently left the administration have also been seeking coffee meetings, these individuals said, declining to publicly reveal names because it could damage their relationships with those involved.

“There have only been a few high-profile people that have gotten out while the getting’s good. A great deal more very well may have committed professional suicide, at least in the short term, by serving in this administration,” said one person, who has been involved in high-profile hiring and asked for anonymity in order to speak freely. “I don’t think it’s potentially a long-term thing. The net of it is, this administration, in general, was not able to attract the A-team. No one’s asking (for) anyone from the Trump administration.”
