CLINTON on TRUMP: "A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons."

So just ask yourself: Do you really think Donald Trump have the temperament to be Commander-in-Chief?

Donald Trump can't even handle the rough-and-tumble of a presidential campaign.

He loses his cool at the slightest provocation. When he's gotten a tough question from a reporter. When he's challenged in a debate. When he sees a protestor at a rally.

Imagine, if you dare, imagine — imagine him in the Oval Office facing a real crisis. A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons.

Father Of Muslim American War Hero To Trump: ‘You Have Sacrificed Nothing’

No DNC or RNC moment more devastating to Trump than these words of Humayun Khan's father. Wow:

"Hillary Clinton was right when she called my son the best of America. If it was up to Donald Trump, he never would have been in America,” he said. “Donald Trump consistently smears the character of Muslims. He disrespects other minorities, women, judges, and even his own party leadership. Donald Trump loves to build walls and ban us from this country.”

Khan then addressed the Republican nominee directly.

“Let me ask you, have you even read the U.S. Constitution? I will gladly lend you my copy,” he said, pulling a copy of the document from his pocket.

“Look for the words ‘liberty’ and ‘equal protection of law.’ Have you ever been to Arlington National Cemetery? Go look at the graves of the brave patriots who died defending this country,”
he said.

“You have sacrificed nothing,” he said, to roars from the crowd. “We cannot solve our problems by building walls. We are stronger together. We will keep getting stronger when Hillary Clinton becomes our president.”

Charles Pierce:A few words about progress. And grace. And American cool.

A Moment Like This Used to Get a Black Man Killed

...........

And, suddenly, just like that, it was done. Barack Obama had given the last great speech of his career as president. There will be other appearances on other stages—out on the stump for HRC, probably an eloquent valedictory when he leaves office—but this was the last time a really big stage would be his alone and he played it up to the rafters. They cranked the Stevie Wonder in the arena and the Louisiana delegation danced and sang along. "I've been such an instrumental part of the Obama campaign, and then to be a supporter of all his policies, to see that it's all coming to an end, but it's not coming to an end," said Senator Karen Carter Peterson, the state Democratic chairperson. "But it's not really coming to an end because we're starting another chapter with another historic moment. God is good."

“On stage a young black man, the president of the United States, warmly embraced an older white woman in front of god and all the world. It is now an iconic photograph. If it had occurred on a weed-choked street in Mississippi within the lifetime of many of the people who were cheering the moment, the young man might have been beaten, burned, hung, thrown into a river with a cotton fan tied to his neck. A song began to rise through the history of the moment:

Southern trees bear a strange fruit/Blood on the leaves and blood at the root/Black bodies swingin’ in the Southern breeze/Strange fruit hangin’ from the poplar trees…

“But it was not those days any longer. The young man was the President of the United States and he has rung his changes on that song, and on an occasionally baffled democracy. Surely, he has done that.”

Mid-campaign, Trump applies for visas to hire 78 low-paid foreign "guest workers" for Mar-a-Lago

Mid-campaign, Trump applies for visas to hire 78 low-paid foreign "guest workers" for his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Donald Trump has made restoring American jobs a centerpiece of his campaign, a pledge he reiterated last week when he accepted the Republican nomination for president: “I’m going to bring our jobs back to Ohio and Pennsylvania and New York and Michigan and all of America,” he said.

This month, Trump is bringing jobs to Florida, as he looks to hire 78 servers, housekeepers, and cooks at his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach and the nearby Trump National Golf Club, Jupiter.

But instead of making sure those jobs go to Americans, he is seeking to import foreign workers for the positions, which pay $10.17 an hour for housekeepers, $11.13 an hour for servers, and $12.74 for cooks. He filed applications this month claiming he couldn’t find enough Americans to do that work, and is seeking temporary visas to bring in 65 workers at Mar-a-Lago along with another seven waiters and six cooks at the golf club.

The Trump campaign did not respond to a request for comment. A call to Mar-a-Lago was not returned, and an employee at the Jupiter golf club declined to comment. But in the past, Trump has defended his use of guest workers by saying there was no other way to fill the jobs.

'Don't Boo – Vote'

"There has never been anyone more qualified" to be president, he said, including himself and Bill Clinton. ("I hope you don't mind, Bill, but I was just telling the truth, man.&quot

When he invoked Donald Trump's name at one point, and the crowd booed, Obama chastened them. "Don't boo — vote," he said.

"The Donald is not really a plans guy. He's not really a facts guy, either," Obama said. "He calls himself a business guy, which is true, but I have to say, I've met many business men and women who've achieved remarkable success without leaving a trail of lawsuits and unpaid workers and people feeling like they got cheated."

"I promise you, our strength, our greatness, does not depend on Donald Trump," he said, saying later on that "the American Dream is something no wall will ever contain."
