Most Adorable President EVER!

and one of many reasons why I still Love This Man!

President Obama in a Princess Tiara Surrounded by Girl Scouts is the Most Adorable Thing You'll See Today

?w=780&h=439&fit=crop&crop=faces&q=70

Could there be anything better than a grown man wearing a princess tiara? As this photo proves, yes, there is, in fact, only one thing superior to that — the leader of the free world, (or, you pick: Barry; most powerful person on Earth; President of the United States) wearing a princess tiara, surrounded by adorable cherubim decked in their girl scout uniforms, grinning into the camera to their hearts’ content.

The photo was taken in May 2014 at the annual White House Science Fair, where the girls exhibited their Lego flood-proof bridge project. Hailing from Girl Scout Troop 2612 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, they somehow — probably with their overwhelming cuteness — persuaded Obama to wear a tiara for their group phot

XMAS News Dump: U.S. Spy Agency Reports Improper Surveillance of Americans

U.S. Spy Agency Reports Improper Surveillance of Americans
By David Lerman Dec 24, 2014 2:07 PM PT 15 Comments Email Print

The National Security Agency today released reports on intelligence collection that may have violated the law or U.S. policy over more than a decade, including unauthorized surveillance of Americans’ overseas communications.

The NSA, responding to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit from the American Civil Liberties Union, released a series of required quarterly and annual reports to the President’s Intelligence Oversight Board that cover the period from the fourth quarter of 2001 to the second quarter of 2013.

The heavily-redacted reports include examples of data on Americans being e-mailed to unauthorized recipients, stored in unsecured computers and retained after it was supposed to be destroyed, according to the documents. They were posted on the NSA’s website at around 1:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

In a 2012 case, for example, an NSA analyst “searched her spouse’s personal telephone directory without his knowledge to obtain names and telephone numbers for targeting,” according to one report. The analyst “has been advised to cease her activities,” it said.

“Sleepin’ Heavenly Peas”

From the time you wake up on this Christmas morning, take time to fully notice the little things, the smells, textures and tastes of Christmas. Each chocolate, cuddle and gift. Take time to savor it. How do the sweets look in your hand? How do they smell? How does it feel in your mouth? Notice the effort others have made to give you gifts. Look at the way they are wrapped. How it feels to pull off the paper. Consider that many other people you do not know have made effort to grow, make or transport parts of your present too. Be kind and compassionate to everyone you have contact with – including yourself. And if things don’t quite go as planned or you are feeling overwhelmed by the celebrations, just take your seat by the side of the road and spend a few moments focusing your attention on your breath.

The Rude Pundit Is Right: "The NRA has caused more cop shootings than a nonstop parade of protests"

What's gonna protect cops more? Locking up peaceful protesters? Or reducing the number of and access to guns?

For just one second, put yourself in an American cop's shoes. There are over 300 million firearms out there. When you see someone you want to arrest, you just assume that person has a gun. If you're an inexperience, poorly-trained, or just shitty cop, you're gonna mistake anything for a gun because you're expecting a gun. When someone reaches for a pocket, you expect a gun. Because that's America in the 21st century. This ain't to excuse cops who fuck up, but you can fuckin' well bet that cops in England don't automatically assume someone has a gun because it's England. Chances are that they don't. It's a different way of existing, being actually shocked by guns.

The NRA has caused more cop shootings than a nonstop parade of protests.

Conservatives don't actually give a fuck about cops as people, despite their moaning over the deaths of Officers Liu and Ramos. What they like is the authority and control the cops represent, the police force as a means of oppressing dissent (and, let's be honest, a lot of cops get off on the authority and control, too). If the right-wing did give a fuck, police would make a shit-ton more money, paid for by tax hikes, like Democratic Mayor Mitch Landrieu is attempting in New Orleans.

And maybe they'd not cut the pensions and benefits of retired cops like fake tough guy Chris Christie,
who seeks to balance New Jersey's budget on the backs of the police and firefighters. In October, a retired police officer called into a radio show to talk to Christie. After brushing off the cop's attempt to criticize him, Christie jowled, "You're a guy that retired at 58 years old, with a full pension and free medical benefits for life, and you're coming on the air to complain...Pay your fair share." If President Obama said that, Fox "news" would cause riots.

What is hurting cops more? Mayor de Blasio saying that asshole cops should stop being assholes? Or Gov. Christie telling cops that their pensions might not be there in full when they retire?

Cenk Uygur mocks Limbaugh: We’d enjoy a Black James Bond even if it bothers ‘your racist ass’

The Huffington Post reported during an interview with Elba last year that “James Bond” was a frequently-searched term in connection with the actor’s name online. Elba responded by saying, “If I was ever to get offered that role, that would be the will of a nation.”

But Limbaugh rejected the prospect, comparing putting Elba in the role to the idea of white people playing President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Uygur pointed out that there were complaints when Craig was cast in the role in 2005 because he has blond hair.

“The question is, why does it bother Rush so much?” Uygur asked, before alluding to conservative reactions to the idea that Santa Claus could be Black.

“I hate to break the news to you, but Santa’s also fictional — we can make him anything we like,” Uygur said. “Yes, normally he was drawn up as a jolly fat guy who’s white. You can make him a skinny Asian if you like.”

Watch Uygur’s commentary, as posted online on Tuesday, below.

*************

I realize Rush is in a terminally drug-induced haze so James Bond is as real to him as Santa is to Megyn Kelly, bless her heart. That's why the OxyMoron says stupid stuff like:
James Bond is a total concept put together by Ian Fleming.
He was white and Scottish. Period

Bond was more than stunts. For my money, the only Bond worthy of following Connery was Brosnan. Who cares if he's Irish? All I know is he was better at playing Bond than Connery was at playing Irish. Can you remember a crappier Irish accent than the one he tried to deliver in The Untouchables? It's enough to drive you to drink. Brosnan may not have been Connery, but he wasn't too shabby. He was certainly a hell of a lot better than that Welsh wanker -- Timothy Dalton. I don't know what he thought he was doing. But tongue-in-cheek wasn't working with that guy. He came across more like creepy--something--wrong--with--that--boy if you ask me. Not the kind of guy a woman would want to be left alone with, if you catch my drift. The only mementos he got from blonde bombshells were on the restraining orders he collected.
