Star Wars Fans Can ONLY Bring REAL Guns into Marcus Theaters (Fake Weapons NOT Allowed)

Star Wars Fans Can Bring Real Guns into Marcus Theaters
BY SPOCKO, ON DECEMBER 18TH, 2015

This is disturbing. At the Marcus Corporation theaters (NYSE:MCS) in Nebraska people with concealed carry permits can bring their real guns into the movies anytime they want. This includes the opening night of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. However, their costume policy says you can’t bring fake weapons or props that look like real weapons into the theater. Fictional props, like light sabers, are okay.

Although I just spotted AMC’s weapon and costume policy last week, (photo), the Star Wars cosplay people have known about various costume restrictions since October. Big chains even put their costume policy info on their posters. The costume policies were created in the wake of the Aurora and Kentucky theater shootings, it’s very sad, but understandable.

Scarborough: Putin has journalists who bother him killed.- Trump: Yeah, so what's your point?

Joe Scarborough pressed Trump on Putin’s history as “a person who kills journalists, political opponents, and invades countries.”

Trump responded by defending Putin. “He’s running his country, and at least he’s a leader. Unlike what he have in this country.”

Scarborough pressed: “But again: He kills journalists that don’t agree with him.”

Trump again brushed off the critique, telling Scarborough, “our country does plenty of killing also, Joe.”

Before moving on, Scarborough threw Trump a lifeline. “You obviously condemn Vladimir Putin killing journalists and political opponents, right?”

“Oh sure, absolutely,” Trump replied carelessly.

(CNN)After a teacher at a Virginia school handed out a standard homework assignment on Islam, such an angry backlash flooded in that it prompted officials to close every single school in the county as a safety precaution.

"While there has been no specific threat of harm to students, schools and school offices will be closed Friday, December 18, 2015," Augusta County Schools said. Extracurricular activities were shut down Thursday afternoon.

Breaking up with Trump.....

Lance initially liked Trump “because he was all for getting illegal immigrants out of this country so that we can rebuild our economy.” He liked that “he was all for gun rights.” He liked that “he isn’t a politician” (“everybody knows politicians are liars”). He liked that “he was brutally honest.” He liked that he would “bomb the shit out of (ISIS].” He liked that “he’s a businessman, and maybe he can build this economy back to what it was.” Summing it all up, he said, “To me, he was the stereotypical American: guns, religion, soldiers.”

But then a video he saw on Facebook turned Lance against him.
At a rally, Trump had been disparaging the number of Americans on food stamps when he was interrupted by a protester. As the protester was escorted out of the rally by security, Trump made fun of the man’s weight. That really got to Lance, who had been on the receiving end of a lot of bullying in school for “being poor.” And suddenly, he saw Trump in a new light: he wasn’t the smart, no-nonsense businessman who could solve America’s problems; he was just a grown-up bully. “How old are you to make fun of someone’s girth?”

The fact that it happened while Trump had been blasting food stamps particularly angered Lance, and it got him thinking. As he said, “The reason I dislike him now is because he’s talking about getting rid of food stamps completely.” Lance agrees that it should be harder to get food stamps; he thinks you should be drug-tested and you should have to work. “But if you’re actually trying in life,” he said, “and you’re coming up a little short, there’s no problem with government assistance.”

The fact that Trump has never suggested abolishing food stamps doesn’t really matter; what matters is that his rant broke Lance’s trust. As Lance said, “I think his problem isn’t with food stamps; I’m honestly starting to think his problem is with poor people. Because he’s rich. And I don’t think he knows the first thing about being poor.”

He added, “I think to him Red Lobster is like McDonald’s.”

Bear Grylls Preview Obama’s ‘Running Wild’ Appearance: ‘He Was Willing to Go For It’

The President decided to appear on the show to raise awareness about climate change. The special edition of “Running Wild” debuts just a week after leaders from 196 countries approved the first global agreement in human history to limit greenhouse-gas emissions.

But what about the people who doubt climate change? “Even if we’re wrong, it’s not going to harm the planet,” Grylls told press in a conference call this week. “It’s only going to help the planet because what do you want us to do? Just keep belching of more the bad stuff out, because eventually we’ll hurt the planet.”

..........

Despite the security, including snipers and a helicopter, Grylls noted Obama took the lead in the wilderness. “It was really driven by the fact that he was willing just to go for it and trust me doing my stuff and then I’d keep him safe and do my bit as well,” Grylls said.

While Obama doesn’t usually spend time in the wild, Grylls felt he was the one who needed to prepare for the filming, explaining Obama seemed incredibly confident. “I said to him right after we just lit the fire, I said, ‘Annoying president, you’re good at everything. You just, you know, normally people take hours doing this. You’re just naturally good at it.'”

Black Santa Flies In ... 49 Years Later

It took 49 years, but Normal's holiday festivities this December will include the town's first official African American Santas. In 1966, NAACP activist Merlin Kennedy tried to ride a float in Bloomington's Christmas parade dressed as Santa. He was threatened with arrest. At age 89, Kennedy is getting a chance to rewrite that story's ending.

In 1966, Kennedy had protested the town’s “One Santa Rule” by attending the annual Christmas parade as Santa Claus.

According to the McLean County Museum of History, Kennedy was riding on an NAACP float, but police stopped it before it could reach the parade route. So Kennedy and others climbed off the float walked the parade route instead, waving to the children.

“They just seen the suit and they didn’t recognize a black person in the suit. One [white] woman almost jerked her little boy’s arm off because he called me Santa Claus,” Kennedy later recalled.

But before they could finish the route, a police officer told Kennedy that he was “under arrest for disturbing the peace.” Although the incident generated sensational headlines at the time, officers eventually declined to go through with the arrest.

WYZZ reported that Kennedy donned the Santa costume once again over the weekend after the NAACP partnered with the town of Normal to host the Santa Station.

“Because of the times that we’re living in today, with so much happening throughout these United States, that we get an opportunity to rewrite history and to continue the conversations about race and inequality and diversity,” Bloomington-Normal NAACP Vice President Takesha Stokes told WYZZ.

Kennedy will be back in the costume again at the Santa Station on Friday, Dec. 18 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
