FOX Chyron Screams: Prejudice

This is an actual banner from "Fox & Friends Weekend." 6:03am today. I double checked because I didn't believe it at first. Hat tip @BadFoxGraphics

Trump is world's worst cheater at golf:

“‘Trump’s caddy came up to me and said, “You know that shot you hit on the par 5?”’ Tirico says. ‘“It was about 10 feet from the hole. Trump threw it in the bunker. I watched him do it.”’”

Only a cartoon, but pretty damn powerful

(Cartoon image is by Ed Hall at artizans.com.)

The cartoon above shows Donald Trump unplugging the life support system of a sick person. Some of you may think that's over-the-top. I don't. The latest move by the Trump administration would do exactly that -- by abolishing Obamacare and taking health insurance away from many millions of Americans. For many of them, that would amount to a death sentence.

Judge Says 20-Week Abortion Ban is Unconstitutional

CBS News: “A federal judge has declared a North Carolina law banning women from having abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy except in an urgent medical emergency is unconstitutional. The decision Monday by U.S. District Judge William Osteen in Greensboro gave state legislators 60 days before his ruling takes effect to allow them to amend abortion restrictions or appeal his ruling to a higher court.”

“The U.S. Supreme Court has protected abortion as a constitutional right until a fetus has developed enough to live outside the mother’s womb. The judge noted that North Carolina’s own medical expert conceded that’s almost never possible until the 22nd week of gestation.”

BREAKING: Deutsche Bank has agreed to turn over Trump’s financial records to Congress

The chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee said Tuesday that Deutsche Bank has begun providing records of its dealings with President Trump for the panel's probe into the president's finances.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said Tuesday that Deutsche Bank has begun cooperating with an investigation into its extensive history with Trump, who borrowed millions of dollars from the bank over several decades.

When asked Tuesday at the Capitol if Deutsche Bank had started to hand over records of it financial relationship with Trump, Waters replied, "Yes."

The chairwoman also said she was satisfied with Deutsche Bank’s cooperation with the probe and that the Financial Services panel is looking into "everything" regarding Trump’s dealings with the bank.

"I see that the pieces of chicken that were on my plate have gone missing..."

This history is VERY important.

In both obstruction probes involving a President in the modern era, the DOJ prosecutor referred findings to *Congress* not the Attorney General:

VANITY FAIR: A Crime In Public View": How William Barr Pardoned Trump

Trump had plenty of reasons to obstruct Mueller’s investigation, whether or not there was an underlying crime. The most obvious one has been staring us in the face all along.
BY SCOTT TUROW
MARCH 25, 2019 12:41 PM

Attorney General William Barr’s summary of special counsel Robert Mueller’s conclusions, in the fancy language of lawyers, impeaches itself. That means that its own words and reasoning call some of Barr’s conclusions into doubt, particularly Barr’s eagerness to say that Donald Trump can’t be proven to have obstructed justice.

It is hard for any of us to know how much credence to give Barr’s précis of the Mueller investigation without knowing more about the evidence. Barr’s letter, however, acknowledges that much and pledges to work to disclose as much as he can without violating Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 6(e), which bars making public grand jury proceedings. But the attorney general’s eagerness to clear Trump of possible obstruction of justice, after having the report in hand for less than 48 hours, is unbecoming of his office and Mueller’s two-year investigation. Furthermore, some of the reasoning in his letter is clearly deeply flawed….

..................

Throughout his election campaign and long after, Trump denied that Russia was responsible for the massive interference in our election that Mueller has now concluded occurred. Trump made these denials “despite,” to quote Barr, “multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign.” Aside from any crimes Trump or his campaign committed by being in cahoots with the Russians, there are other clear gains to Trump in hindering the investigation. The most obvious is that the Russian interference, which both Barr and Mueller say the Trump campaign knew about, calls the legitimacy of the 2016 election into question.

.........................

To argue that no underlying crime means no obstruction is therefore nonsense. That is fallacious reasoning and it impugns Barr’s integrity and his reputation as a lawyer. Worse, it represents a troubling effort to paper over the acknowledged evidence that Mr. Trump committed a crime in public view.
