People are being sent into Syria, not boots. Fu k depersonalizing people

I really hate the depersonalization of people in the military. They aren't "boots" but people. A boot is an article of clothing. What is being put into Syria is not articles of clothing but people will are sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, dads, moms, etc.

Fuck this "sending boots" bullshit. They are sending PEOPLE who can get injured, maimed, killed, psychologically traumatized by being out into situations where they do awful things to other people.

They should not be allowed to minimalist it by calling them "boots,".

These are people in special ops.

These are boots.

Mentally ill people aren’t killers. Angry people are.

This fundamentally misrepresents where the danger lies.

Violence is not a product of mental illness. Nor is violence generally the action of ordinary, stable individuals who suddenly “break” and commit crimes of passion. Violent crimes are committed by violent people, those who do not have the skills to manage their anger. Most homicides are committed by people with a history of violence. Murderers are rarely ordinary, law-abiding citizens, and they are also rarely mentally ill. Violence is a product of compromised anger management skills.
