Has The Program 'New Amsterdam' Jumped The Shark?......
One of my favorite programs - but the last two episodes just went to far with the drama.
Everything is a calamity in this hospital. All the main and secondary characters are up to their eyeballs with problems. Just too much!!!
I don't know if the writers are running out of ideas or if they think that us people - that are already despondent and demoralized with what is going on in our country and the world - need even more bad karma to deal with.
I got into the program because their theme seemed to be hopeful and positive. Lately they've gone off the deep end.
I'm thinking this program has jumped the shark and I'm going to wean myself off of watching it going forward. Too bad!!!
Seems Like We're Getting A Lot Of Details Recently About The J6 Insurrection.....
with all these communications with Meadows and all the stuff about Pence saying he's not getting in that car.
Then you got the likes of some of the J6 Committee members appearing on news shows talking about this info and answering some pointed questions. And then all the analysis that goes on with the talking heads afterwards.
I'm getting a little bit concerned that by the time the J6 Committee holds their hearings - that a lot of what they have to say and tell us - will be old information - that people will have already heard and that the talking heads have talked it to death - that the Committee might not be able to hold their interest.
I was counting on the hearings to be so explosive and getting closer to the Midterms - that these hearings might just give the Dems a boost in the polls and aid the retention of the House and Senate.
I'm a little worried now that these hearings won't have that impact.
If I didn't know better - I'd think that the MSM is getting this info out on purpose - just to take some of the wind out of the sails of those hearings.
Am I too suspicious here?
How Are They Going To Run The J6 Hearings?.....
Are they going to bring people before the committee and put them under oath and question them (televised)?
Or
Are they just going to go through a chronological timeline and tell us the story - complete with footnotes as to how they came to their conclusions based on all the info they came up with during their investigation.
Do we know how they will conduct these hearings?
How Come We're Just Finding Out About This McCarthy Conference Call Now....
Liz Cheney - whom we all here have hailed her courage for defying the Repug Party and joining the J6 Committee - was in on this call and knew about the feelings of McCarthy & McConnell at the time and even knew about the discussion they had about the 25th Amendment.
Why hadn't she made this information available to us before? Why is this info just coming out now?
I really think she needs to be subject to questions by the rest of the J6 Committee about this. And what about Kinzinger? Wasn't he in on the same conference call? Didn't he have knowledge about this as well?
The other question I have is - what changed within the Repug Party. They seemed to be so intent on laying the blame on TFG at the time - and - what happened that changed their minds to instead of punishing TFG - to stick behind him and back the 'Big Lie'? Was it something that TFG told them when he was encountered by them?
Given the fact that this was a conference call to the bulk of the Repug Party at the time - aren't they all accessories to this coup plot now? Didn't they all become accessories to TFG's and his henchmen's scheme to change the outcome of the election of Biden?
I'd like to hear DU'ers opinion of these questions I have posed here.
How Many Corporations & People Would Need To Move Out Of Florida Before.....
Florida would be hurt finacially and have to institute a State Income Tax?
DeSantis would be blamed because of his bullying if this happened. Residents that moved to Florida to escape taxes would be pissed at him. I don't think he'd make it much further as the Gov.
I realize that a lot of the tax revenue that is generated in Florida is on the backs of tourists.
Disney could really hurt DeSantis if they played hardball with him.
What Will Life In The U.S. Be Like If The Repugs Get Back In Power In 2022 & 2024?......
One way to maybe prevent the Repugs from getting back in power is to paint a picture for the American People as to what life will be like if they do get back in power.
How will things change in day to day American Life? What are the plans of the Repugs for us?
The Repugs are laying the groundwork now.
So I was hoping that DU'ers can post here - how our lives will change under a Repug regime beyond 2022.
Maybe if we can make those projections here and these projections are so objectionable and gross - it could influence the American Voters and prevent that from happening.
My gut tells me that day to day life in America will change drastically and that these changes will impact - even on those that support the Repugs now. My gut also tells me that these - now Repug supporters - won't like the changes either.
So - if we can make projections and paint that picture now - before these elections - maybe we can prevent that from happening - if we can get the word out now how untenable things will be under a Repug regime.
Please post your projections here - your responses - as to what things could look like beyond 2022 & 2024. I really don't think that many Americans - who always think that the grass is always greener on the other side - realize how much their lives will change if the Repugs come back in power.
We're seeing the drastic, draconian tactics the Repugs are putting in place in the Red States. They are still supporting the 'Big Lie'. We're seeing how they stacked the Judiciary. We're seeing what they are doing in Florida - with LGBTQ's; school books; Disney; etc. We're seeing the support they have for the J6 insurrection. We're seeing how SCOTUS is being manipulated by the likes of Ginnie Thomas. We're seeing how TFG is setting up office out of Mar-A-Lago and the influence he still maintains. We're seeing how they are ignoring the laws of the law and not being held accountable for their actions. We're seeing their hypocrisy and arrogance. We're seeing how the top 1%'ers are supporting the Repugs.
What is going to be the result of all of this and more that the Repugs are doing if they actually win and come to power again?

Right now - from what I'm seeing happening - I don't think I want to experience any future Repug regime. My gut tells me that most Americans feel the same.
