What is up with advertisers notions of "winning" these days?
I groaned when all the commercials for back-to-school sales included the phrase, "Win back-to-school", but now they are encouraging me to "win" Halloween.
I'm as competitive as the next guy, when it is warranted, but is it necessary to "win" a holiday or non-competitive event? I do realize that their definition of winning involves buying stuff, but c'mon.

Buying a lair with subterranean volcanic vents and a shark pool. Is it worth it?
Sure some people think that volcanic vents lower the resale value and that shark maintenance costs are high, but I enjoy entertaining.
1. Take a statement or off-the-cuff comment from some Democratic elected official.
2. Twist it and take it out of context.
3. Post your outrage to social media and web forums
4. Attack Democrats who support elected Democrats to take pressure off the right wingers and Russian bots
5. Post more outrage and revel in your social media attention!

If this is yours or one of your friends to do lists, please stop. You are not helping the cause, the party, or your favorite pure candidate. Please find something better to do with your time. You are only helping the opposition and those chaos-causing Russian bots.
