Parkhomenko thinks three will vote for witnesses

Excerpt from his daily email:

Well, well, well. It seems neocon Yosemite Sam wasn’t done with Trump just yet regardless of what chickenshit GOP senators were planning.

In a Sunday bombshell, the NYT scooped that Bolton’s memoir includes the admission that Trump told him the hold on Ukraine aid was tied to a sham investigation into the Bidens. Of course Bolton could’ve told this to the House and the nation, but he wanted to be a scumbag about the whole thing. Now Republicans are struggling.

Lindsey Graham and his league of extraordinary kiss-asses were forced to cancel their press conference this morning, as Republicans said they were blind-sided by the new information. Ya know a good way to not be blind-sided? Have a real trial with witnesses and documents.

Mittens Romney said this morning he now believes witnesses are more likely, but we still don’t believe it. We think Mitch’s buddy Lamar will make this all go away allowing three GOPers to act like they really want witnesses.

Trump appears to have waived executive privilege by taking to twitter Sunday night to dispute the allegations. And Rudy and Fox and all the other Trump trash are already going after Bolton with pitchforks and torches. This revelation has really fucked up Mitch’s plans to use this week for his cover-up. Let’s keep the pressure on. Give them a call 202-224-3121. Light ‘em up

Truest Kobe quote ever - on Trump

“A potus whose name alone creates division and anger. Whose words inspire dissension and hatred can’t possibly “Make America Great Again.”

Blue state people, you are going to have to carry us and take

the lead. If you live in a red state, particularly a very red part, it seems insurmountable, for us anyway. The trump slime is so deep and embeded, there is no such thing as truth or logic anymore, it's incredibly hard to see any sunlight. If any red state people have any success stories, please share.

Things you wish Dem Managers would say!

How about..

"And we know ALL of this proof that our President is corrupt with just a mere fraction of the documents and witnesses needed to see the whole picture. Don't you want to see the whole picture? The American public does!"

P.S. Every senator already knows what's out there already.

Schiff mauls Cipollone on impeachment trial's first day

On the first day of the Senate impeachment trial, President Trump’s lawyers were caught off-guard and unprepared.

White House counsel Pat Cipollone and a crew of several other lawyers for the president arrived for their first day of the trial, apparently expecting things to start off slowly with sleepy arguments over the rules for the trial. Opening arguments were not expected until Wednesday.

Cipollone was granted an hour to speak a few minutes after Chief Justice John Roberts entered the Senate chamber and the trial began in earnest. He used only three of those minutes. He spoke in a halting voice and said little of substance, simply asserting that Trump “has done absolutely nothing wrong.” And then he sat down, yielding the floor to the lead House impeachment manager, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

Schiff ambushed Cipollone and Trump’s team of lawyers, launching immediately into a passionate, comprehensive and piercing set of arguments about why the House impeached the president in December for withholding $400 million in military aid to Ukraine to pressure its government to announce an investigation into a political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

One for the NYT Ethicist. Republican dilemma..

Republicans senatorial choices:

A. Do what is morally right and convict Trump because he deserves removal to the nth degree.

or

B. Realize that if you vote to convict, you are pretty much acquiescing that your opposition will win the WH and you will lose power since Pence can not win the WH. Your chances of promoting conservatism are vastly diminished.

WP: GOP working on Plan B ..classifying Bolton testimony??

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trumps-lawyers-senate-gop-allies-work-privately-to-ensure-bolton-does-not-testify-publicly/ar-BBZa0RT

President Trump’s legal defense team and Senate GOP allies are quietly gaming out contingency plans should Democrats win enough votes to force witnesses to testify in the impeachment trial, including an effort to keep former national security adviser John Bolton from the spotlight, according to multiple officials familiar with the discussions.

While Republicans continue to express confidence that Democrats will fail to persuade four GOP lawmakers to break ranks with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who has opposed calling any witnesses in the trial, they are readying a Plan B just in case — underscoring how uncertain they are about prevailing in a showdown over witnesses and Bolton’s possible testimony.

One option being discussed, according to a senior administration official, would be to move Bolton’s testimony to a classified setting because of national security concerns, ensuring that it is not public.

To receive the testimony in a classified session, Trump’s attorneys would have to request such a step, according to one official, adding that it would probably need the approval of 51 senators.
