How'd I miss this Sununu gem? - & GOP pollster says Republicans are mocking 'child' Trump

Luntz said he was not surprised by comments made by New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) that gained attention from the Gridiron Club’s annual dinner.

He’s f—— crazy,” Sununu said of Trump earlier this month at the annual event, known for its roasts of politicians and other figures.

“I don’t think he’s so crazy that you could put him in a mental institution,” he added. “But I think if he were in one, he ain’t getting out.”

Thinking further, why are Eastern European refugees ( disclaimer.. my grandparents were from Ukraine and Poland) any better than anyone else??

Anyone except Republican fascists should be able to come here

Whaaa? Bloomberg - Russian ruble back up.

From Bloomberg...

International sanctions on Vladimir Putin’s regime sank it to a record low of 121.5 rubles per dollar, triggering memories of the battering it took during the 1998 Russian financial crisis.

Things looked dire enough that U.S. President Joe Biden said the ruble had been reduced to “rubble.”

Now, though, it sure hasn’t. The ruble has surged all the way back to where it was before Putin invaded Ukraine, closing at 79.7 in Moscow on Wednesday.

What’s become clear is that despite an incredibly wide-ranging package of sanctions on the Russian government and its oligarchs, and an exodus of foreign businesses, the actions are largely toothless if foreigners keep guzzling Russian oil and natural gas -- supporting the ruble by stocking Putin’s coffers.

It's been 36 days since motion to dismiss Weisselburg case

Anyone know any update? Said motion might be ruled on within weeks of 2-22. Couldn't find further update.

July 1, 2021
NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump’s company and its longtime finance chief were charged Thursday in what prosecutors called a “sweeping and audacious” tax fraud scheme in which the executive collected more than $1.7 million in off-the-books compensation, including apartment rent, car payments and school tuition

February 22, 2022

(CNN)Allen Weisselberg, the former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, has asked a judge to dismiss the tax fraud indictment against him, saying it violates the immunity he was given in the federal investigation into Michael Cohen, a former personal attorney to former President Donald Trump, and that certain charges fall outside of the statute of limitations.

Weisselberg's attorneys also argued in the 162-page brief that the Manhattan district attorney and New York attorney general have targeted Trump, Weisselberg and the Trump Organization. In the filing, his attorneys argue that New York authorities were politically motivated in pursuing the indictment last summer charging them with a 15-year tax fraud scheme. Weisselberg and the Trump Organization have pleaded not guilty.

The motion to dismiss comes as the Manhattan District Attorney's Office continues to investigate the Trump Organization and its executives about the accuracy of financial statements provided to lenders, insurers and others. Last week, a New York judge ruled that Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and daughter Ivanka Trump need to testify in the New York attorney general's civil investigation into the Trump Organization's finances. Trumps attorneys have vowed to appeal.

Has anyone else become more cynical/realistic in the last year?

Now, when some new GOP scandal/travesty comes out, my mind immediately bypasses

"This is the one! This is the act that's going to get them"

-and goes to-

"Is there an actual crime with hard evidence that a prosecutor will indict on?"

If the answer is likely no, then mental self-preservation kicks in to take it with a grain of salt, knowing also that the story will die within 24 hrs.
