Oops: seal winds up in a field

A seal found exhausted in a field miles from the sea will need "a lot of attention" before it can be released, the RSPCA has said.

The grey seal was rescued near Newton-le-Willows on Merseyside on Monday.

The adult male was taken to the RSPCA East Winch in Norfolk for treatment, where staff have named him Dumbledore, after the Harry Potter character.

DC: mayor signs bill banning 'ex-gay' therapy for minors

At the beginning of this month, Truth Wins Out commended the Washington DC city council for voting unanimously to ban the notoriously discredited and harmful practice of “ex-gay” or “reparative” therapy for minors, noting that the practice is roundly condemned by all major medical and mental health professional bodies. Washington mayor Vincent Gray has now signed that bill.
