Scott Pruitt Before the E.P.A.: Fancy Homes, a Shell Company and Friends With Money

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/21/us/politics/scott-pruitt-oklahoma-epa.html

A review of real estate and other public records shows that Mr. Pruitt was not the sole owner: The property was held by a shell company registered to a business partner and law school friend, Kenneth Wagner. Mr. Wagner now holds a top political job at the Environmental Protection Agency, where Mr. Pruitt, 49, is the administrator.

The mortgage on the Oklahoma City home, the records show, was issued by a local bank that was led by another business associate of Mr. Pruitt’s, Albert Kelly. Recently barred from working in the finance industry because of a banking violation, Mr. Kelly is now one of Mr. Pruitt’s top aides at the E.P.A. and runs the agency’s Superfund program.

And he channeled state contracts to Mr. Wagner’s law firm, which was already doing business with the state.

Last summer, about six months into his job as E.P.A. administrator, Mr. Pruitt traveled by chartered jet to a Superfund cleanup site in Colorado, where the Gold King Mine had released toxic wastewater.

At the event were two of his most loyal Oklahoma business associates — Mr. Kelly and Mr. Wagner, newly installed as E.P.A. officials themselves, though neither of them had a background in environmental policy or regulation.

A say hi to Joy Thread

Joy. I loves me some Joy!

You are a class act and I have no doubt that a sophisticated operation
was undertaken to hurt you by going after the very people you have
supported for years.

Dr. Jackson will be moving to Mingo, W.V. and he will
open up a "pain clinic" there by the 15 of June. (some people say)

Trump’s ‘Best People’ Are the Worst

At this point you have to ask: Just what do job postings for the Trump administration look like? Surely they must stipulate that relevant experience isn’t a plus, but that a flexible notion of ethics is. They must demand references who can recount specific instances of demonstrated incompetence. How else to explain the sheer number of poorly prepared or careless or sticky-fingered officials crammed into this careening clown-car of an administration?

Consider the Trump appointees who have been in the news lately.

Remember when Mr. Trump said he would hire the “best people”? Of course, he said Mexico would pay for his border wall, too.

Never forget that the man and women of law enforcement do tough and dangerous
work every day.

I have now seen the video and read about "it" in the Washington Post but I still can't believe it.

Donald Trump brushed some "dandruff" off the President of France's
shoulder on a live t.v. feed and then said, "let me get that piece of
dandruff .... now you are perfect." Afterwards he called Kim Jung Un
"an honorable man."

WTF is wrong that man?

More Americans can identify the Three Stooges than the three branches of government

Here Are 16 of the Dumbest Things Americans Believe -- And the Right-Wing Lies Behind Them

https://www.alternet.org/here-are-16-dumbest-things-americans-believe-and-right-wing-lies-behind-them

Nearly one-fifth of Americans think Obama is a Muslim. Thanks, Fox news, for acting like this was a matter of opinion, not fact.

25 percent of Americans don’t believe in Darwin’s theory of evolution while less than 40 percent do. Consider the fact that several of our newly elected officials, specifically newly elected Kansas Governor Sam Brownback, share that belief.

Earlier this year, nearly 40 percent of Americans still believed the Sarah Palin-supported lie about "death panels" being included in health care reform.

As of just a few years ago, about half of Americans still suspected a connection between Saddam Hussein and the attacks of September 11, a lie that was reinforced by none other than Dick Cheney.

NRA video: Blowing up a Yeti Cooler .... and these people own firearms?

NRA supporters blow up Yeti coolers after end of discount program

Source: NY Daily News

The National Rifle Association is hot and bothered after cooler company Yeti put its relationship on ice.

The NRA posted a peeved statement on its website late last week saying that the company no longer wishes to be a vendor for the lobbying group but did not explain why.

Former NRA President Marion Hammer said that the decision, which comes after the NRA has been criticized for attacks on survivors of the Parkland school shooting, “isn’t sportsmanlike.”

Some supporters upset that they would have fewer Yeti discounts called for a boycott of the goods, which are hard-sided coolers popular at tailgates and other parties.
