Dixie Girl; How Mike Pence disconnected to Russia

Charlie Pierce, Esquire: 'Nothingburger' Doesn't Do This Memo Justice

I think I may have broken the RETURN key on my laptop. I was reading The Memo a short time after its release by the Republican majority of the House Intelligence Committee. I got to the end and I realized that, even though the Christopher Steele report is The Memo’s chief bogeyman, there was nothing in The Memo that undercuts anything we know about the substance of the Steele dossier. In fact, there is nothing in The Memo that undercuts anything pertaining to the relationship between the Russians and the Trump campaign, nor is there anything that undercuts what we know about the Russian ratfcking generally. I got all the way to the last of the six pages and I couldn’t quite believe that this was what all the fighting had been about for the past couple of weeks. There had to be more. I kept hammering that poor RETURN key in vain. You let me down, Devin Nunes, you White House lawn ornament, you.

I grew up with the Watergate tapes. I grew up with the revelations of the Pike and the Church committees. (Revelations, I might add, that produced the FISA process and the congressional intelligence procedures that Nunes turned into dog food Friday.) I grew up with George Schultz’s diaries that showed that everyone in the upper reaches of the Reagan administration was involved in the crimes of Iran-Contra. I watched every second of the several inquiries into the Whitewater land deal, which is how I know what a crock that was, but at least there was some phony substance to those phony charges. This Memo, Devin, isn’t even a good try. You and your staff have to be the laziest alleged obstructors of justice that I’ve ever seen. All it appears to be is a lame-ass defense of a self-important goofball Russophile named Carter Page. That’s all you got?

This is a guy that got on the FBI radar in 2013, when the president* was still firing celebrities on his television show. The FBI found that Page had been actively cultivated by Russian intelligence as a possible asset. And now, your whole argument is that the FISA warrants were prompted by the Steele dossier and that Steele is a shtunk who was biased against the president*? For this, you needed a memo? For this, you needed a month’s worth of drama? For this, you needed to demolish the good faith between the intelligence community and the congressional committees designed to conduct oversight of that community? You couldn’t even get the date of David Corn’s breakthrough story in Mother Jones right. Hell, you could have saved us all the trouble and just done a couple of nights on Hannity to make that case. You’d have reached every single American that currently buys what you’re peddling.

This is threadbare. This is shabby. This reveals absolutely nothing. All it does is damage. It isn't even really good ratfcking. I mean, what the fck, Devin? You should’ve outsourced this to the Russians, who really do know how to do this kind of thing well.

Anything better than a dog's love?

My black lab is @ my feet right now and he is trying to control me with
his eyes ... life is good.

Some of the same people who were all over Hillary for possibly putting national security info @

.... risk by her use of a private email server (something that never happened) are now supporting
the release of the White House/Nunes memo that now will expose highly classified national security
information and methods over the objections of our own national security people.

Treason Weasels .... LOCK 'EM UP.

Train carrying members of Congress hits a truck

Source: CNN

A train carrying members of Congress to their legislative retreat in West Virginia, hit a truck Wednesday, multiple sources told CNN.

One GOP source was unsure how many members of Congress were on the train or how many people were injured, but said there were injuries.

That source said members "hit the deck."

Republican members of Congress were on their way for a retreat at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia starting
Wednesday and ending Friday. Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to speak to members later Wednesday and President Donald Trump is scheduled to address the event tomorrow.

The # is 48: That is the # of White House staff (20) and Trump Campaign people (28) ...

..... that team Mueller has interviewed.

WASHINGTON (AP) — More than 20 White House employees have given interviews to the special counsel in his probe of possible obstruction of justice and Trump campaign ties to Russian election interference, according to a document released Thursday that underscores the breadth of the investigation.

An additional 28 people affiliated with the Trump campaign have also been interviewed by either the special counsel or congressional committees probing Russian election meddling, the document notes. It does not name the people nor provide a breakdown of how many were interviewed by Mueller’s team.

I might be wrong but Mueller and company would not be interviewing that many people if
nothing was there.

BTW Alan Alda can play Bob Mueller in the movie.

Everyone on the Internet Made the Same Joke About Donald Trump's Latest Immigration Comments

Source: Time

The second the President announced his latest immigration stance, people on the internet started remixing his remarks in the form of Power Rangers memes.

President Donald Trump previewed a legislative framework on immigration Wednesday that would give hundreds of thousands of people brought here legally a pathway to citizenship, using the unusual word “morph” to refer to the transition.

“We’re going to morph into it,” Trump said to reporters Wednesday as he previewed the plan the White House hopes will pass. “It’s going to happen, at some point in the future, over a period of 10 to 12 years.”

That brought the internet, inevitably, hilariously to the memes about Power Rangers. If you missed the ’90s TV show, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was about teens with the power to “morph” into world-saving heroes in Daft-Punk-like helmets and brightly colorful uniforms.

With the news out of KY I have to say right now I miss that man so much.

And with the NRA having the GOP on a leash we can be sure this mass shooting will
be the last one until we have another one in a day, a week, or a month but there will
be more.

BTW P.M. Trudeau is a class act too. https://www.democraticunderground.com/10141969785

President Obama w/a brother and sisters of the little kids who were killed in Newton, CT.

After this the President went and held and cried w/the parents of the children that got gunned
down on that awful day in Dec. 2012.

Did you know that no companies ever made investments in America before Trump?

BTW not one word about the KY school shooting.

US says snow-loving lynx no longer need special protection

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Wildlife officials in the United States declared Canada lynx recovered on Thursday and said the snow-loving wild cats no longer need special protections following steps to preserve their habitat.

The Fish and Wildlife Service said it will begin drafting a rule to revoke the lynx’s threatened listing across the Lower 48 state under the Endangered Species Act. Wildlife advocates said they would challenge the move in court.

First imposed in 2000, the threatened designation has interrupted numerous logging and road building projects on federal lands, frustrating industry groups and Western lawmakers.

Some scientists and wildlife advocates have warned that climate change could reduce lynx habitat and the availability of its primary food source — snowshoe hares.

Canada lynx are about the size of bobcats, but with huge paws to help them navigate deep snow. The animals also are found in Montana, Minnesota, Idaho and Washington state.

How long before the GOP allows for hunting of lynx as part of "smart wildlife management?
