Coronavirus Live Updates: New Fears in Washington State

Source: NY Times

The coronavirus may have been in Washington State for weeks, and 150 to 1,500 may have been infected.

As Washington State declared a state of emergency over the new coronavirus, researchers who studied two cases in the state say that the virus may have been spreading there for weeks, suggesting the possibility that up to 1,500 people in the state may have been infected.

The findings suggest that the virus has been spreading in the community for close to six weeks, according to one of the scientists who compared the sequences, Trevor Bedford, an associate professor at the University of Washington.

If that is true, it could mean that 150 to 1,500 people “have either been infected and recovered or currently are infected now,” said Mike Famulare, a researcher at the Institute for Disease Modeling in Bellevue, Wash., who performed the analysis. Those cases, if they exist, have thus far been undetected.

As so many have already posted here but good God in Butter he is an idiot

I just saw about 5 minutes of Trump w/Pence behind him and that mother fucker is clueless.

Trump: (rough quote)
People are getting better and right now the real # of Americans we have to worry about is
either 15 or 45 and something about outcomes doing better because of ... and then some
gibberish about his closing the borders will keep us all safe.

A 2% lethality rate with our population of 330,000,000 people is > 6 million.

Daily Kos: Warren: 'Who funded Lindsey Graham's campaign?' That would be Republican Mike Bloomberg

Former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg is clearly running to represent the wrong party, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren came with facts to back that up at Tuesday night’s Democratic presidential debate. During the first hour of the debate, she listed Republican legislators Bloomberg shelled out big bucks to support, including Sen. Lindsey Graham.

”Let’s think of it this way. We’re here in Charleston, and you know who is going to be in Charleston later this week, is Donald Trump,” Warren said. “He’s going to be here to raise money for his buddy Senator Lindsey Graham.” She then asked: “Who funded Lindsey Graham’s campaign for re-election last time? It was Mayor Bloomberg.”

Bloomberg donated $250,000 to a PAC backing Graham in 2014, and two years later, he gave $11.7 million to back Republican incumbent Sen. Pat Toomey’s reelection instead of challenger and policy expert Katie McGinty, according to The New York Times. Warren called the challenger “terrific.” “She lost by a single point,” the Massachusetts senator said, adding another name to the list of Republicans Bloomberg supported.

“In 2012, he scooped in to try to defend another Republican senator against a woman challenger. That was me,” Warren said. “It didn’t work, but he tried hard.”

Fuck you Rob Portman .... his email to me

Dear Botany,

Thank you for writing in to express your views regarding the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump. It is good to hear from you.

On February 5, I voted against both articles of impeachment brought before the Senate by the House of Representatives. In doing so, I joined a majority of my Senate colleagues in opposing removal of President Trump from office and taking him off the ballot this year.

The founders intended for impeachment to be extremely rare, and they required those seeking to remove the president to meet the burden of proving “high crimes and misdemeanors,” such as treason or bribery. In this case, unlike in other impeachments, no crime was alleged. Although there may be circumstances where a crime is not necessary for a president to be impeached, to be impeached under such a circumstance would require meeting an even higher bar, and I believe it was not met in this case.

In addition, the House engaged in a rushed process that lacked fundamental fairness. Instead of using the tools available to compel the administration to produce documents and witnesses, the House followed a self-imposed and entirely political deadline for voting on the articles of impeachment before Christmas. Rushing an impeachment case through the House without due process and giving the Senate an incomplete case to finish set a dangerous precedent. If the Senate had voted in favor of the articles, it would have risked making this kind of flawed, partisan impeachment in the House a regular occurrence, which would serve only to further deepen the divides that seem to permeate every part of our society today.

It is time to turn the page and begin a new chapter. We can do that by demonstrating that we can work together and address the issues our constituents care most about.

My focus will remain on working with my colleagues, on both sides of the aisle, and with the Trump Administration, to lower prescription drug costs, improve skills training for the jobs available today, expand retirement security, tackle the addiction crisis, and the many other priorities for Ohio families. I truly believe we can do more together as a united Senate, Congress, and country.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact my office. It is an honor to represent you and your family in the United States Senate. For more information you can visit my website at www.portman.senate.gov. Please keep in touch.

Sincerely,

Rob Portman
U.S. Senator

Can you spot a pattern here?

In 2016 who did the Russians want to win the GOP primaries?
And who won it?

In 2016 who did the Russians want to win the general election?
And who won it?

In 2020 who does Russia want to win the democratic primaries?
And who is leading the democratic primaries now?

It might be the skunk weed and Myers Rum but is not Trump's response to
the information getting out that Russia is once again is trying to manipulate
damning? He didn't get upset with Russia for their interference once again
in our elections but that news that Russia was trying to rat fuck our elections
in favor of Bernie and that is what pissed him off.

"When I was a young man I needed good love but I'm a little bit older now and I know my stuff."

DU see you on the flip side.

Bernie knew about Russia helping his campaign, Bernie took that help, and Bernie kept the Russian ..

... help to his campaign hidden. Russia and the Trump Campaign are not and were not helping
Bernie because they support his progressive and anti establishment-democrat agenda but because
Sanders will be the easiest to beat in the general election.

BTW I voted for Bernie in the 2016 Ohio primary.
