He didn't have a meltdown on camera, so all is well.

FWIW - inside Trump's orbit, advisers are feeling good about how he did during the Oval Office address. The main point they have all emphasized is that Trump, who is often described in coverage as "fuming," was calm and controlled in the delivery. No prompter stumbles, etc

Trump is threatening California now.

Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forrest fires that, with proper Forrest Management, would never happen. Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!

What is it going to take before real Republicans do something about this person who wants to be Emperor?

ETA: Can Trump actually withhold FEMA money? I'm searching, but haven't found anything yet.

'You're such a smart ass!' Kellyanne Conway tears into Jim Acosta

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway slammed Jim Acosta as 'a smart ass' on Tuesday after the CNN reporter asked her if President Donald Trump will 'tell the truth' in his Oval Office address on the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Conway, speaking to reporters in the White House driveway, didn't hold back on her contempt for Acosta, telling him she was the 'only one around here who gives you the time of day' - a likely reference to her fellow administration officials - and that 'a lot of these people don't like you' in reference to the members of the media watching the exchange.

The 60 second back-and-forth came ahead of Trump's primetime speech on border security Tuesday night as the White House and Democrats remain at an impasse on ending the partial government shutdown.

Administration officials have been defending the president's demand for $5.6 billion in border spending for his wall before he'll agree to reopen the government. Conway was coming off an appearance on Fox News when she spoke to reporters in the White House drive way

Trump: Forget Concrete, Let's Build A Steel Wall Instead

President Donald Trump said Sunday that he would be willing to accept a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border that is made out of steel rather than concrete.

“[Democrats] don’t like concrete, so we’ll give them steel. Steel is fine. Steel is actually more expensive than concrete, but it will look beautiful and it’s actually strong. It’s actually stronger,” Trump said at Camp David.

The president’s statement came as the partial government shutdown dragged into its third week over his demand for more than $5 billion to build a border wall he repeatedly promised Mexico would pay for. Democrats have opposed funding a wall they have called “immoral” and impractical ― but the wall’s material has not been their sticking point.

Someone on tv asked this morning where would all that steel come from? China? What about the tariffs?

US fires tear gas into Mexico as migrants attempt to cross border into San Diego

U.S. border authorities fired tear gas into Mexico on Monday night when a group of roughly 150 migrants attempted to illegally cross the border into San Diego.

Customs and Border Protection said the non-lethal measures were not aimed at those who were actively climbing the fence, but at people who were throwing rocks south of the borderline.

-------

Multiple children were among the migrants attempting to cross, and officers reported seeing some of them lift “toddler-sized children up and over the concertina wire.”

Border Patrol also used smoke devices and pepper spray on the migrants. Twenty-five people were arrested, including two teenagers who attempted to cross, according to CBP. They were not injured.
