Clivia in Bloom

March 9, 2022

Right now, we have 22 photos. And today is Wednesday.

I'm planning on closing Submissions on March 14, which is next Monday.

We need eight more photos!

And we have five days to get them.

This is your wake-up call!

***Submission Thread for the March Contest: WINTER****

The theme this month is Winter! Whatever that looks like to you is good. Holidays, food, sports, the list goes on.

HERE ARE THE BASIC RULES OF SUBMISSION:

Only one entry per person, and it must be a photograph you took yourself. You need to post your entry in the submission thread started by the Host of the contest. Please be sure to include a "Title" for your photograph in the Subject line of your post. The submission thread is for photo entries only, no comments or questions.

The Volunteer Host is allowed to enter the Contest.

Please keep your entry no larger than 1024 pixels in its longest dimension and under 675K in file size and limit photo editing to a reasonable amount.

Once a photo is entered in a contest it is ineligible for any future contest unless the Host specifies otherwise.

CONTEST LICENSE:

An entrant to this contest (original work), by submitting a photograph, is giving permission for that photograph to be copied to Demopedia or to a linked Gallery and included in a DU Calendar that will display the photographs entered for this contest for the purpose of publicizing future contests and/or commemorating current and past contests. The entrant retains all other rights to the photograph being submitted. Neither Demopedia and/or a linked Gallery may use any photograph submitted for any purpose other than to display the photograph being submitted by the entrant, and neither gains any real or implied ownership rights to the photograph.

Please, no comments or questions in this thread! Those make my job a lot more difficult. I will post a thread for questions and comments shortly after I post this Submissions thread!

On Edit: If you decide for any reason to change the photo you've already entered, please click on the "edit" button before you remove your photo. Then, simply put the link to your new photo into that same space. Thank You!

Here's the timeline for the contest:

March 6th--March 14th: Submissions. Submissions will end when there are 30 photos. Each photographer may submit one photograph unless I open the contest for a second one later on.

Preliminary Thread: March 15th--March 17th

Finals Thread: March 18--March 20th

Then I will post the Winners Thread.

Now, I'm eager to see what you've got!

This piece was written by a teenager in response to MarchForOurLives and gun reform.

A junior at a local Boston high school wrote this poem. Regardless of how you feel about #MarchForOurLives and gun reform, please take a minute to read it. This is how our children feel right now. This is what keeps them up at night.
