***Submission Thread for September's Seasonal Contest--Summer***

What do you think of when you think Summer? Whatever comes to you is fine. Picnics, vacations, outings, cooking for hot days, all of the above, and anything else that you can photograph! Use your imagination and have a ball!

This thread is for photos only! NO COMMENTS!

Comments go in this thread: https://www.democraticunderground.com/103691164

Now for the rules:

The Winner of a seasonal contest may enter the next seasonal contest.

Only one entry per person. You need to post your entry in the submission thread started by the Host of the contest. Please be sure to include a "Title" for your photograph in the Subject line of your post. The submission thread is for photo entries only, no comments or questions. The Host will start a separate thread just for comments and/or questions.

The Volunteer Host is allowed to enter the Seasonal Contest.

There will be no extra rules on the Seasonal Contest beyond keeping your entry no larger than 1024 pixels in its longest dimension and under 675K in file size and limit photo editing to a reasonable amount. We would prefer your photo look like a photograph instead of a digital design. If you arenít sure, ask the group in a separate thread. Youíll get plenty of feedback to specific questions.
If you need help posting a photograph or with image sizing, just ask.

Once a photo is entered in a contest it is ineligible for any future contest unless the Host specifies otherwise.

Submissions will be limited to 30 entries maximum unless the Photography Group votes to change the limits.

An entrant to this contest, by submitting a photograph, is giving permission for that photograph to be copied to Demopedia or to a linked Gallery and included in a DU Calendar that will display the photographs entered for this contest for the purpose of publicizing future contests and/or commemorating current and past contests. The entrant retains all other rights to the photograph being submitted. Neither Demopedia and/or a linked Gallery may use any photograph submitted for any purpose other than to display the photograph being submitted by the entrant, and neither gains any real or implied ownership rights to the photograph.
The submissions will run until September 16th - or until we have 30 submissions. I may well allow a second photo, and will announce that later on in the allotted time period.

Now, let's see what you've got!

**Time Frame for the September Photo Contest--Summer**

All right! Summer is officially over, so that means this month's contest will give us the chance to show off our Summer photos!

I think a week to get your ideas going should work. Therefore, I propose to open Submissions on September 9th.

Then when we get to 30 photos, I will start the Preliminary Threads in General Discussion. Those will run for 72 hours, and then the Finals will run, also for 72 hours. And there will be links and further details as the month progresses.

So you all can now think about and choose the photos that best represents Summer to you! All aspects make good choices. Use your imagination!

Comments or questions are more than welcome.

I see people talking about being scared, and I get it. However, I am not.

Being scared means that part of your brain is occupied with what horrors can happen next.

You need to be calm and keep your eyes open so that any threat can be viewed without the scared filter.

Being scared hinders your good judgement.

This is my take on it, anyway.
