"bomb trains" transporting oil

Cracking pipelines or ancient trains transporting oil - I don't know which is worse -- where are the regulations to protect the people -as I'm listening to the train whistles - It's really quiet where I live - the only noise at night is crickets, coyotes and train whistles.

Earlier this week, Ring of Fire host and activist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. took a trip to Oregon to look into the horrific phenomenon of bomb trains.

Many have begun to refer to the trains in the northwestern United States which are used to transport oil as “bomb trains” due to the tragic and volatile reactions that can occur if the train derails.

All year-round, trains criss-cross the American countryside transporting millions of gallons of crude oil. Just one slip up and the train carrying fuel is instantly turned into a massively dangerous bomb. That is exactly what nearly happened in the town Kennedy visited this week as his own niece was in a playground near where a train derailed just 300 feet away.

“I’m up in Oregon with the Yakima fighting the bombtrains. This one derailed 300 feet from middle school where my 14 year old niece Kate Skakel is student president. She was in the playground when the train exploded. The Fire Chief told me that it was one of the few calm days of the year. If the wind had been blowing, the town would have been incinerated.”

MONSANTO CAN'T deny the reality of science from Ring of Fire & their glyphosate taskforce

"Study after study is showing up these days that tell us that Monsanto’s Roundup is causing cancer and other extremely severe neurological defects. Monsanto adamantly denies all of these charges, but they cannot deny the reality of science. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this with attorney Howard Nations."

I had a hide and jurior #1 wrote a nasty remark telling me to get off DU

"Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: I've really had it with the personal attacks and nonsense from reality rejectionists. Get off DU and read a third grade textbook, you're embarrassing the rest of us. "

Do people like this get to remain on juries?

Also, I felt my hide was unfair if you read the thread - 2 statements in a row putting down liberals .

statement -
"People that run around yelling about how much smarter liberals are than conservatives annoy the everloving shit out of me."
- so I get hidden for just saying this person sounds like a Republican??

Big Pharma so greedy - massive price hikes on overdose drugs

Amidst a growing opioid epidemic across the nation, big pharma is seeing dollar signs and an opportunity to make big bucks off of a lifesaving medication which saves thousands of lives yearly.

Narcan is a drug which has the ability to save the life of an individual who has overdosed on heroin by blocking the effects of the drug immediately after the overdose occurs.

In typical greedy pharma style, the company which makes Narcan and it’s generic version Naloxone have massively hiked the prices to capitalize on the growing need. There are five versions of the drug on the market, and yet, the price continues to rise.

Generic Naxolene has been on the market since 1971 and this version of the drug, manufactured by Amphastar Pharmaceuticals, is the most commonly-used version in emergency responders and in private homes during an overdose.

More than 28,000 people died from opioid and heroin overdoses in 2014, more than any year on record, according to the Centers for Disease Control. As the opioid epidemic set in, outpatient use of naloxone has increased by 72 percent in the last five years, according to Food and Drug Administration data.

In New Hampshire, which has experienced a massive growth in opioid usage in recent years, 2,800 doses of Narcan have been used since January, saving thousands of lives.

93% of Americans have glyphosate in their bodies - UC Cal

children have the most (could be the ADD and ADHD problem - ya think?)

Nine Out of 10 Americans Tested Positive for Monsanto's Cancer-Linked Weedkiller Glyphosate
A probable human carcinogen is found in far too many foods

What makes that figure even more alarming is that many of you who sent in urine samples for testing probably eat more organic than non-organic food. Which suggests that either your organic food has been contaminated and/or you’re being exposed to glyphosate via unknown sources.

Worse yet? Children had the highest levels.

The testing, carried out by a laboratory at UC San Francisco, was the first-ever comprehensive and validated LC/MS/MS testing project to be carried out across America. According to the results, people who live in the west and mid-west tested higher than those living in other regions of the country.

Excellent documentary on Glyphosate - from Ring of Fire Website

If it is too long for you to watch, check out these :

14 minutes - pigs and glyphosate (will definitely make you think about what you are feeding your kids and pets)

18:09 minutes - glyphosates effect on gut bacteria that kills beneficial bacteria

25 minutes - Seralini and rat tumors - same study as Monsanto only did only Seralini did it for 2 years instead of 3 months and studied effect of glyphosate on all organs - not just looking for cancers - actually said tumers started at 4 months

33 minutes - glyphosate test samples of microtoxins - scary! Biological toxins - soil life declined --

and definitely check out this next one

40 minutes - Moms across America - 166 parts/billion glyphosate in breast milk

Coal Industry dying but Republicans want to keep it an issue in campaign

Farron Cousins says debates about coal are stupid - debating an energy source from 16's vs renewable energy. The coal industry is failing - not because of regulations - but because demand has fallen in half from China and India. Cousins says to transfer coal workers to a job that is not going to give them cancer.

He speaks of the republican state of Florida - tons of sun - and no renewables.

For some reason, the coal industry is playing a large role in this year’s presidential elections. Some candidates are pandering to the out-of-work coal miners, while others are proposing plans to put them back to work in the renewable energy sector. But if we learn anything from the demise of coal, it’s that the country has to kick our fossil fuel addiction, and quickly

YEA! Ring of Fire plans to go after Monsanto's Roundup big time in the next few weeks!

Mike Papantonio, America's best trial lawyer and Farron Cousins editor of the Trial Lawyers mag talk about health issues of glyphosate and Roundup. Cousins says it's almost as dangerous as DDT - just watered down a little.

If you put Roundup in your yard, within 30 minutes glyphosate is in your body. It's not just causing cancer - it's causing many other diseases - alzheimers, birth defects, breast cancer, colitius, heart disease, diabetes, ms, etc all linked through studies. "It's a chemical designed to kill living cells."

"EPA just an extension of Monsanto." Ring of Fire plans to be talking about this alot in the next few weeks because they say corporate media is not covering this.

Monsanto’s Roundup has been linked to a myriad of health issues ranging from cancers to neurological defects to infertility. Still, we’re pouring 100 million tons of this toxin into the environment every year. America’s Lawyer Mike Papantonio and Farron Cousins discuss the dangers that Monsanto is hiding from the public.

Russia wants to be the worlds top exporter of Non-Gmo and organic food

This comes at a time when countries are refusing to accept America's GMO foods

Russia—which largely opposes genetically modified food (GMOs) and is stamping out GMOs in its entire food production—wants to be world’s largest exporter of non-GMO food, according to RT

In a speech given to Russian Parliament last week, President Vladimir Putin announced his intention to be the world’s biggest supplier of “ecologically clean and high-quality food” and criticized GMO food production in western countries even though demand for organic food has soared exponentially in recent years.

“We are not only able to feed ourselves taking into account our lands, water resources—Russia is able to become the largest world supplier of healthy, ecologically clean and high-quality food which the Western producers have long lost, especially given the fact that demand for such products in the world market is steadily growing,” he said.

Putin also said that in the last decade, Russia has gone from importing half of its food to becoming a net exporter. Putin claims that Russia now makes more money from selling food than from selling weapons and fuel.
