See inside Trump's New Jersey golf club that's about to become the 'summer White House'

As Mar-a-Lago closes for the summer, Donald Trump will need to find another destination to meet with world leaders and play golf.

That's likely to be his club in Bedminster, New Jersey, according to Politico. It's the only one of his golf clubs that he built from the ground up, instead of purchasing and refurbishing, and the president holds a special affinity for it.

Take a look around Bedminster and the club, and get the history of how it came to be one of Trump's favorite retreats.

A Chilling Theory on Trumps Nonstop Lies - Mother Jones

“26 hours, 29 Trumpian False or Misleading Claims.”

That was the headline on a piece last week from the Washington Post, whose reporters continued the herculean task of debunking wave after wave of President Donald Trump’s lies. (It turned out there was a 30th Trump falsehood in that time frame, regarding the head of the Boy Scouts.) The New York Times keeps a running tally of the president’s lies since Inauguration Day, and PolitiFact has scrutinized and rated 69 percent of Trump’s statements as mostly false, false, or “pants on fire.”

Trump’s chronic duplicity may be pathological, as some experts have suggested. But what else might be going on here? In fact, the 45th president’s stream of lies echoes a contemporary form of Russian propaganda known as the “Firehose of Falsehood.”

In 2016, the nonpartisan research organization RAND released a study of messaging techniques seen in Kremlin-controlled media. The researchers described two key features: “high numbers of channels and messages” and “a shameless willingness to disseminate partial truths or outright fictions.”

The result of those tactics? “New Russian propaganda entertains, confuses and overwhelms the audience.”

GMO marijuana - Monsanto is Coming for your weed

Remember the Bayer-Monsanto merger? Despite concerns among anti-trust experts and opposition from 90% of Americans, shareholders approved the merger in December. Now that the ultimate corporatist gang of kleptocrats is running the show in Washington D.C., Monsanto and Bayer are expecting to close the deal by the end of the year.

Monsanto also has a significant business relationship with Scott’s Miracle-Gro, another corporate criminal that has made no secret of its intentions to control the marijuana market. Toward that end, Scott’s has taken over three manufacturers of products used by marijuana growers (such as “grow lights,” plant nutrients and hydroponic gardening supplies), working through a front group called Hawthorne.

Meanwhile, Bayer and Monsanto have been sharing their own little secrets on the production of GMO marijuana. According to Michael Straumietis, owner of Advanced Nutrients, Monsanto and Bayer have been at this for some time.

He adds, “Bayer partners with GW Pharmaceuticals, which grows its own proprietary marijuana genetics. It’s logical to conclude that Monsanto and Bayer want to create GMO marijuana.”

Trump 'patriot' accidentally shot himself at Confederate rally by resting his flag pole on his gun

Did you hear about the Civil War Part II over the weekend? Somehow, word got around among Confederate “patriot” groups that AntiFa (anti-facists) were planning to desecrate Confederate memorials like Gettysburg. Never mind there are no Confederate memorials at Gettysburg.

For their part, the Central Pennsylvania AntiFa organization made it clear they had no plans to show up and emphatically denied they ever had any intention of going to Gettysburg.

Nevertheless, the rally cry had already gone out, the Confederate bugle sounded, and so-called “patriots” heeded the call and made their way to Gettysburg to defend their great, great, great, great grandpappy’s honor. Among the “patriots” was Ben Hornberger, a Trump supporter, who accidentally shot himself while resting his flag pole on his gun at the rally of Gettysburg:

A "patriot" who brought a revolver to Gettysburg National Military Park Saturday amid rumors of desecration of memorials accidentally shot himself in the leg Saturday. Benjamin Hornberger, 23, of Shippensburg, accidentally triggered the revolver, which was inside a leg holster, when he temporarily rested the bottom of his flag pole against the holster, according to witnesses.

Racist Florida cop - makes up law to ticket black man for walking without identification

When Shipman asked the officer what he’d done wrong, the cop told him that he was fining him for jaywalking, which costs $65. Bolen then asked the young man for his ID, and when he told the officer he didn’t have it, Bolen “snapped.”

“That’s another infraction,” Bolen said. “In the state of Florida, you have to have an ID card on you identifying who you are or I can detain you for seven hours until I figure out who you are.”

According to the Herald, however, the officer got the law wrong — Florida Statute 322.15 requires licensed drivers to always have their licenses when driving and can incur a $136 fine if they do not, but no such law exists for walking without a license.

GOP Sen. Ron Johnson Says No Way Health Care Vote Should Occur This Week

We don’t have the courage in Washington, the honesty, to talk about this issue with real facts.”

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) continued criticizing the health care bill crafted by his own party and said Sunday there shouldn’t be a floor vote on the legislation this week, as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is seeking.

Johnson, elected in 2010 running against Obamacare, also said on NBC’s “Meet The Press” program that the debate on revising health care has not been based on facts. His concerns about the Senate bill ― written in secret and unveiled Thursday ― included that it could cause a rise in insurance premiums.

“We don’t have the courage in Washington, the honesty, to talk about this issue with real facts,” he said. “There’s no way we should be voting on [the bill] this next week, no way,”

Asked whether he would work to delay a vote, Johnson said, “I have a hard time believing Wisconsin constituents or even myself will have enough time to properly evaluate this for me to vote for motion to proceed.”
