For those who are still questioning the police suicides related to 1/6

I would ask you to read this from the USA Today. Howie’s wife has some valid points. His death was caused by the insurrection and its aftermath. His death may not have been at the Capitol, but it was caused by his work that day and the immediate days after.

He had a good life, beautiful wife and a lot to look forward to. There was a lot of trauma that day. A lot of trauma

I just see selfish people.

After a long week of work, I went to Wegmans today to get food, prescriptions and a couple bottles of wine. I am in Northern Virginia and the great majority of rhe people were masked. Some N-95, Some KN-95, some surgical, some athletic, some designer, some old school cloth but most people are doing something to protect themselves and others.

And then there were the others, no masks, carts overflowing not giving two shits about protecting others, themselves or their families. I don’t know this for a fact, but I look at them and see the fake Christian preppies who could care less about their brothers and sisters and even less for the least among us.

It is simple, they are selfish fucktards. We tend to overcomplicate things, they are selfish fucktards.

Shaken by the Jan. 6 attack, Capitol workers quit jobs that once made them proud

This article is behind the Posts paywall but a very powerful read.

The trauma suffered by thousands of legislative aides, police officers and blue-collar workers after the insurrection has prompted some to leave the Capitol

….. Death threats continued to arrive daily by phone from constituents who were convinced that Democrats had stolen the election. “It absolutely broke me to know that people would be fine if my boss was dead, if I was dead, if my co-workers were dead,” she said. “The American people stopped believing in the institution. And if they don’t believe in it, what the hell are any of us doing working for it……:

….. A month after the insurrection, Richards returned to the Capitol and walked with Scanlon through Statuary Hall, a setting that typically inspired in her a sense of awe. Instead, she could not help but think about the insurrectionists who had been there, an association she compared to the “stench” of a house fire that takes “forever to get out.”
“It felt like something bad had happened, and I didn’t want to be there anymore,” she sai…..

Capitol Police Hero, Lt Michael Byrd request for help.

I still don’t understand how the Right sees Rittenhouse with no training, just gets to shoot someone and Lt Byrd, with his training and justification is bad....

Lt. Michael Byrd is a national hero. Lt. Byrd is a 28 year veteran of the United States Capitol Police and, as he was for over a decade before that day, the ranking official in charge of protecting the Members of Congress on the floor of the House of Representatives on January 6th.

When an armed mob of thousands overran the United States Capitol, intent on disrupting Congress and preventing them from certifying President Biden’s electoral win, scores of law enforcement officers were seriously injured. Many, unable to respond with force because they were overrun by the violent mob, were badly beaten and tasered. When the mob began to enter the final ring of protection inside the inner sanctum of the House Chamber, Lt. Byrd was the in the forefront of that last line of defense.

Obligated to use lethal force, Lt. Byrd’s life has been threatened and he has been forced from his home. His wife, also former law enforcement, has had to close her business and they have lost over 60% of their pre-insurrection income.

Rather than living in their dream home and finishing his decorated career with honor, Lt. Byrd and his family have been falsely vilified, threatened, and maligned. While we can never adequately thank Lt. Byrd for his lifetime of law enforcement service, nor stop those who would provide a false narrative for their own political agenda, we can help Lt. Byrd and his family pick up the pieces and make it through this difficult time together.

Lt. Byrd has spent his entire adult life protecting Congress and our Nation’s Capital. Please consider contributing to help the Byrd family through this difficult time. Every donation of every size is appreciated and every supportive note means the world to the Byrd family.

Thank you.

It's not "The Big Lie" President Trump is trying to steal an election he lost by over 7 million vot

We need to start to call this what is is. TRUMP ELECTION THEFT. Team Trump has spent the last year trying to steal an election that they lost by over 7 million votes. This was a landslide by recent elections standards. This was not close, he got beaten badly and has spent 11 months trying to rewrite the entire thing.

It is not the big lie, it is attempted Trump election theft of an election that was not even close.

Red Sox - Rays going into the 13th inning.

Both teams about out of bench players and starting to run out of pitching.

Thank you thread for Judge Chutkans

Judge Chutkans is looking at the Insurrection at the US Capitol for the crime that it was. She is sentencing people to some time behind bars. Thank you for stepping us and letting people pay for the crime that they committed. They tried to stop democracy and overthrow the US Government.

Thank You Judge Chutkans

This is what professionalism looks like.

The picture may piss a lot of people with claims of white privilege and you would be right but it is the human thing to do. It should be afforded to anyone in distress. The picture shows an asshole piece of garbage insurrectionist being taken care of by those (the US Capitol Police) who he came to harm.

Take away from today's protest.

The speakers that were there were not high profile, and had no unified message.

The press outnumbered the protestors, maybe 150 protestors with a couple hundred press ans citizen journalists making the crowd look bigger than it was.

The cops made a killing. Paying about $150,000 dollars an hour or more, maybe much more in OT to the thousand plus cops here on a weekend. It will be a minimum of 8 hours, but probably more like 12 hours per because of the report time and punch out time.

They forgot their thin blue line flags

They kind of sort of support the blue and are not supportive of the attackers that they are there supporting, or something like that.

They spent no real money, but I am willing to bet the organizer made plenty off the clowns who donated on line.

My favorite comment when asking a counter protester in an Antifa military uniform, me “ I am not familiar with the antifa uniform, are you a private, a captain or an admiral” her response “ yes”. Clearly, Antifa has a strong and well defined leadership structure.
