"Some Democrats at the Ohio Statehouse are introducing a new bill that they say will make sure Governors cant receive money from private companies while they are in office.
JobsOhio, the states private job creation company recently gave Worthington Industries incentives worth a half million dollars. But questions were raised when reports surfaced that Governor Kasich was taking deferred compensation payments from that company while he was in office."
So, if the Dems have to make it illegal, that means it's legal now. Christ on a trampoline.

Republicans: the “Anti-Education Party”
http://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2013/08/20/republicans-the-anti-education-party/Snips:
"For one thing, they are kicking tens of thousands of kids out of Head Start. Yes, because of the Sequester, over 57,000 mostly poor kids are now losing education, shelter, and meals. So, the Republicans are against pre-school education. (Unless you are rich, white and Right, of course.)
Across the country, they are pushing school choice programs: these are designed to steal taxpayer money and enrich private businesses. However, they often result in such s**** education, some parents are suing to stop the practice. Mostly, its poor kids who get the shaft. So now we see that the Republicans are against K-12 education. (Unless you are rich, white and Right, of course.)"
"Mind, Republicans" despise anything based on actual facts, so their antipathy towards education (which is all about facts) is understandable, if idiotic. But then, if youre rich, white and Right, you likely think you already know everything, so why would you need an education?"

Some Steubenville Scumbucket Rape Freaks May Escape Justice
http://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2013/08/19/some-steubenville-scumbucket-rape-freaks-may-escape-justice/The grand jury has recessed again, and is sending different signals than before:
"A key issue before the grand jury is whether adults who are required to report crimes knew early on about the rape last August but didnt say anything.
Past releases have spoken about the need for more investigation, or have given a return date. This one does neither. Instead, it sounds like a note that a deliberating jury sends out to a judge, a day or so before returning with an acquittal."

Lying Sack of S*** of The Week: Reince Priebus
http://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2013/08/16/lying-sack-of-s-of-the-week-reince-priebus/Most DUers already know about his flip-flop on self-deportation. For those who don't:
"The man must think we dont have an Internet. Republican National Committee chair Reince Priebus would have you believe that he is appalled, just appalled with the notion of self-deportation, oh yes, how very appalled indeed. Click the link to see how appalled he claims to be. There is just one little problem: he signed off on the concept in the latest Republican party platform. Whoops.
He can call self-deportation all kinds of nasty names, but he himself blessed this plank:
We will create humane procedures to encourage illegal aliens to return home voluntarily, while enforcing the law against those who overstay their visas.
That is to say, have people choose to deport themselves. Or, put another way, self-deportation.
Hey, RNC Reince: Id be appalled to tell you to wear s*** on your head; so here is a Crown O Polished Turds for you. See, totally different, right?"

While You’re Bashing Russia for its Homophobic Laws, Remember…
"A lot of Americans agree with Ol Pooty-Poot. You might think we are oh-so-enlightened, but dont kid yourselves: all too many of us still hates them some LGBT folks. Haters in and out of government."

Of course, since it's Ohio, and Ohio is a one-party state, nothing will be done. Hell, we had a confessed and convicted criminal for a governor, not so many years ago. Bob Taft. And the Reeps kept him around until his term expired.

John Kasich has been caught stealing from Ohio taxpayers. So, of course, nothing will be done about it: it's Ohio, after all.

Holy shit, they have no fucking shame at all, none at ALL. That's their response to the DOJ's allegations of discrimination against people of color in their illegal and corrupt electioneering activities. Snips:

Texas Says: We Won’t Discriminate, We Just Want to Rig Elections
http://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2013/08/13/texas-says-we-wont-discriminate-we-just-want-to-rig-elections/Holy shit, they have no fucking shame at all, none at ALL. That's their response to the DOJ's allegations of discrimination against people of color in their illegal and corrupt electioneering activities. Snips:
"And they say it straight out, with no shame at all. The state of Texas is fighting the DOJ, hoping to keep the courts from blocking them from screwing tens of thousands of citizens out of the right to vote. Their logic works like this: We arent discriminating against people of color, and never did, really, well, maybe we did a little bit but not all that much, and we willnevereverever do it again. Honest. Pinky swear. But we ARE trying to rig elections so Democrats cant win. From the article:
Shortly after the Supreme Courts Voting Rights Act decision, Texas moved to reinstate restrictive voting laws that had previously been blocked by the feds. As far as its 2011 redistricting plan goes, the states brief argues thats all in the past, and it was a partisan issue rather than a racial one anyway."
"Texas Republicans see absolutely nothing wrong with election-rigging, screwing voters from the other party out of the right to vote, and subverting the electoral process for partisan gain. In their minds, it is perfectly OK to steal elections. And that is truly frightening.
Criminals saying that their crimes are no big deal are always scary: murderers who say God told me to kill that doctor, child rapists who claim it was her idea, and so on. The creepiest crooks are those who simply fail to understand that the law of the land applies to everyone, or even think that their crimes are legal when they commit them because, well, just because. Texas is saying that they can completely destroy the democratic process, so long as their primary intent is not to discriminate on basis of skin color."
