President Donald Trump has previously declared that North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat, touted the defeat of ISIS, doubted the effects of climate change and railed against the Iran nuclear deal as "defective at its core."
But the most senior intelligence officials in the Trump administration suggested Tuesday that many of the President's sweeping assertions related to national security are inconsistent with their own assessments.

Colombia's foreign minister reacted to Bolton's notes Monday evening, saying he was unaware of the thinking behind them.
"Colombia does not know the reasons behind these notes and it is unaware of the real extent of them," said Colombian Foreign Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo in a statement. "Colombia will continue to carry conversations with the United States on several topics and cooperating with the U.S. in any bilateral topics."

The Nixon Foundation sought to distance itself Friday from Stone after the political provocateur emerged from a Florida federal courthouse flashing the signature double V hand signal, usually used to symbolize "victory" or "peace," that Nixon made when he departed the White House after his resignation. Stone, who has a tattoo of the former president on his back, has long cited Nixon as a key political icon and influence.
"This morning's widely-circulated characterization of Roger Stone as a Nixon campaign aide or adviser is a gross misstatement. Mr. Stone was 16 years old during the Nixon presidential campaign of 1968 and 20 years old during the reelection campaign of 1972," the Nixon Foundation tweeted.

"They've listened to a lot of Democrat and Republican members for the last month. They've heard all the demands, they know all the background on it, said Lankford, a member of the Senates Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
Put out a straw man proposal. Get something out there the president can say, I can support this and has elements from both sides. Put it on the table, then open it up for debate.

President Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani argued Sunday he did not know for sure if Trump spoke with Michael Cohen about his congressional testimony, but that it would not have been significant if Trump did.
"I don't know if it happened or didn't happen. It may be attorney-client privilege if it happened, where I can't acknowledge it. But I have no knowledge that he spoke to him, but I'm telling you I wasn't there then," Giuliani said on CNN's "State of the Union" with Jake Tapper.
