Biden's Electability Backed up by the Numbers. Better cross-over appeal than fellow Dems.

CNN) — Former Vice President Joe Biden's major selling point to Democratic primary voters is that he is in the best position to beat President Donald Trump in 2020. And while electability is difficult to measure, Biden has one thing going for him for now: the polls.

Biden continuously beats Trump by a wider margin than his Democratic opponents do.
A new Ohio Quinnipiac University poll is just the latest example of this phenomenon. Biden leads Trump by a 50% to 42% margin. Remember, Ohio wasn't close in 2016. Even if this is another example of a Midwestern poll underestimating Trump, if Biden wins the Buckeye State by merely a point, he's likely well on his way to an electoral college victory.

Of course, what I'm more interested in is the comparison between the Democratic candidates. All the non-Biden Democrats are either tied or trailing the President in Ohio.

Now if this were just one poll, Biden's electability argument wouldn't be strong. The thing is that Biden's been doing better across the board. He was the only Democrat to beat Trump in Texas. Biden also held the largest leads over Trump in Florida and Pennsylvania, both important states in the electoral college. He has also been consistently running at least 3 points better than his fellow Democrats against Trump nationally.

Biden: Most qualified for "the moment we are in," a perilous moment for America and the globe...

Many experts have said that we are closer to a nuclear conflict than we ever have been before.
We sit on a powder keg. Russia, North Korea, Iran, China and their relations to other countries, not
only the U.S., present a threat that must be addressed with experience and knowledge.

If we are to get Iran to the table to negotiate or re-negotiate our agreement with them, it will take
expert leadership and a leader Iran can trust. By the time Obama led the Iran agreement negotiations, he had attained a good measure of respect from the international community. He had
stature on the world stage.

I suggest that contrary to the talking point that Biden is out of step, can not lead our party forward, is ill-suited to today’s landscape socially, politically, that he is just the man for our time,
the only candidate who can hit the ground running on foreign policy. repair our alliances, address factors that contribute to migrants’ fleeing Central America, understand the complicated geo-political forces underlying hotspots across the world.

We are tending to neglect foreign policy and relations this election cycle, but Biden is committed to
and fully prepared to work in this vital area, as much an existential matter as is climate change.

The urgency is well shown in this Common Dreams article:

Biden comfortably ahead in head-to-head matchup with Trump

TRUMP'S FAVORITE POLLING COMPANY FINDS BIDEN COMFORTABLY AHEAD IN HEAD-TO-HEAD MATCHUP

President Donald Trump's favorite polling company released a new poll on Friday showing that the leading Democratic candidate, former Vice President Joe Biden, would comfortably beat him Trump a head-to-head matchup.

The Rasmussen Reports survey measured 48 percent support among likely voters for Biden, who is currently running for the Democratic nomination, ahead of Trump's 44 percent support.

"Joe Biden may be finding the going a little rougher in his own party, but he's still the most successful Democrat in a hypothetical 2020 matchup with President Trump," the report's authors wrote.

Drop, Cover, and Hold new style. A few important tips that might go against what you and I

learned.

1. The door frame is no stronger than the inner walls of your house away from the possibility of
breaking glass and falling objects.

2. Don’t run about seeking cover as you might injure yourself in the process or falling stuff get you before you reach cover.

3. Don’t immediately go outside and when you do stay away from falling building parts, glass, power lines etc.

Biden CNN interview part I shows Biden's obvious strengths as a debater, speaking presence, and

foreign policy expert. There is a second part I did not locate.

He looks quite healthy and fit here. Still handsome after all these years.

Go Joe!

Joe and Jill are in Iowa today, July 3. I see CNN covering Harris, but could not find

anything on Joe except that “support is crumbling, Harris surges” though polls suggest he remains the frontrunner there.

If anyone finds Joe covered today or tomorrow, please post. Also, if you tweet, stop be and say Hi
to Joe.

Time to tweet to Joe. Give him some moral support. A bunch of sick slander is multiplying in his

feed, age jokes but worse, accusations that he molests women and children, replete with photo montages. If we support Joe, we need to get out there and do it.
