Math, possibly geometry?, question.

I am using a shape with my students that looks like a parallelogram, but the left and right sides are curved instead of straight. The curves are "parallel" to each other.

I don't know how else to describe it... It kind of looks like a very thick letter C, but with a flat top and bottom. Does this shape have a name?

Pittsburghers mourn the the death of K-9 Officer Rocco.

RIP Rocco: K-9 officer stabbed during arrest dies


PITTSBURGH —

A K-9 officer that was stabbed earlier this week passed away on Thursday night.

Rocco was stabbed in Lawrenceville Tuesday and took a turn for the worse Thursday afternoon.

An emotional group of K-9 handlers and their K-9 officers, along with other police officers, lined the walkway outside of the Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center for Rocco, an 8-year-old German shepherd.

"After a good fight, Pittsburgh police lost one of its own,” said police during a press conference.

All K-9s were called to the Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center and Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto ordered that flags be flown at half-mast on all city buildings.

I just wanted to thank you for all you did and tell you that your plans are just perfect. MFM would have loved everyone raising a girlie-drink in his honor.

Those Edible Arrangements are very nice. I sent one to my physical therapy team last year. I agree with whomever said to check with the head nurse to see what they would prefer.

Gosh, what you have been through. Everyone appreciates your keeping us posted.

You're probably right....

it was thoughtful of you to write to him. I know he put so much time into those posts and did it for us. Even when he was so seriously ill, he found the energy to be funny. God bless him, he was such a good person.

I would really try to reply to his posts.

Remember, he would get kind of perturbed if he didn't get many replies? His subject line was always so hilarious and spot-on, that I could never think of anything to add! He only wanted us to kick them so others could see them.

I hope he knows that I tried.
