I witnessed what we are up against!

Florida Today and I witnessed what we are up against!

Today I took my son to get his DL changed from Ga to Fl.
Here we go. He had lost his actual social security card BUT he had his Hewett Jackson tax returns. His certified birth certificate. He had had two forms of physical address and his bank statement.. all of which showed his social security number, The number was good enough for the IRS but not the DMV.

They had access to his Ga DL and his other Florida DL from years ago and they issued a temporary DL BUT could not register to vote. They had his old DL up on screen from the year 2000 before it was transferred to Ga. They had the Ga DL...Give me a break!!!! Pictures and all. He is 43 not 19.

Ocala was the closest social security office. It is now shut down. 60 0r more miles to get a social security card. He lost is card in a lake and with all of those valid numbers. Now the next question. Do you have a passport? My reply..Come on..
He can't drive around the block legally and you want to know if he can leave the country via passport? My son was nice. I was pissed. I told her.. "Hey I know what is happening here ..King Scott put this in effect after he got elected right?"
The answer was yes. I again said, "He can temporarily drive for 30 days until the proper papers are shown but can't register to vote. That was an affirmative.

Do you really think Florida is not going to make it damn near impossible to get all the papers in order. Then I was so mad I could not see straight. She knew what car he drove in 1999 from that DL in Florida...Gonna tell me she didn't know he voted Dem last election. Where are your papers please. She looked a bit uncomfortable when I was throwing questions out there. Never smiled. Reminded me of some Nazi intake person. This is where you register to vote.
Wait till they compare our signatures on election day. How many handwriting analysis are onboard. None I venture to say.

I knew it would be bad. I had to show my marriage license to get my DL. What a bunch of crap.

WOW!!! Soledad Squashes Mitt's Spokesman (Sununu) Re: Medicare Claims

New Romney claim: Mitt's Medicare plan is 'very different' than Ryan's

CNN's Soledad O'Brien did a great job in her interview with Mitt Romney surrogate John Sununu this morning, in the process giving us a glimpse at just how uncomfortable Romney's campaign must be now that they have to defend the Romney-Ryan plan to end Medicare. Sununu spent much of the interview badgering O'Brien, accusing her of being a tool of the Obama campaign, but when she fought back—with facts, not insults—the only thing Sununu could do was claim that Ryan's Medicare plan is "very different" the Romney plan.

But despite his claim, the only difference cited by Sununu wasn't actually part of the Medicare plan. He said that unlike Ryan's budget plan, Romney would repeal Medicare savings signed into law by President Obama. But those savings are actually a good thing; they lower the cost of Medicare without touching benefits. And the only reason they aren't in the Romney budget plan is that Romney's budget plan has almost no details.

So, despite Sununu's claim, there is really basically no difference between what Ryan and Romney are proposing for the future of Medicare. The fact that Sununu would nonetheless claim that the plans are "very different" tells you everything you need to know about how afraid Republicans are of defending the Romney-Ryan plan on its merits.

Farmer's full of dough.

So Mittens, in another attempt to prove his regular Joe bona-fides, decides to visit an Iowa farm. With so many farmers suffering from this year's drought ( that of course isn't caused by any global climate change) RMoney had to show that he cares. They installed a brand new empathy chip just for the occasion.

Of course, Romney being Romney couldn't visit just any old farm.

But he is not only a "farmer". He's also an architectural maverick who lives in a spaceship house.



Sorry Mittens, no car elevator. Doesn't every famer's house contain a car wash bay and art display area?

It's Friday and I'm in a mocking mood and who better to mock than Mittens?

...Mitt Romney is a disaster. He's the first Republican nominee in modern history to have higher negatives than positives (not even Bob Dole had that distinction). His every interaction with regular Americans (and heads of state, for that matter) has ended in an insult. He was a bully when he was younger, and he's a bully now. Except that instead of shearing off people's wrong-sized hair, he fires them. He speaks weird.

Pres. Barack Obama leads in Electoral College. Obama has opened up a four-point lead in the national polling, omitting Rasmussen (even though Rasmussen itself is now showing Obama ahead):
But that four-point national lead isn't as relevant as the big electoral college advantage he currently enjoys.
It isn't just Obama's margin of victory in states adding up to 332 electoral votes (when he only needs 270 to win). It's Romney's numbers. Look at them closely. There are a lot of 42s and 43s and 44s. In fact, he only hits 46 percent in three of the 13 states. This, of course, speaks to the fact that no one likes Romney. And while the Romney campaign claims it'll be like Ronald Reagan—coming from behind late in the cycle to win, fact is, people liked Reagan. They liked him a lot.

New Hateful Romney Ad: Obama Declared "War on Religion" And He's Like The USSR

Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee have a new ad up on the air http://content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2012/08/mitt-romney-ad-religious-freedom-lech-walesa-/1#.UCPYYqCrqvZ. I'll just provide some of the details and hold my comments until you've had a chance to read them. I'm not providing the video here but you can see it, if you truly must, at the link above. The narration begins:

First of all, that claim is completely false. But that's a topic for another discussion.

Then Romney brought up Pope John Paul II's heroic efforts in speaking out against the Soviet Union. The narrator then asked:



Let's try to assess this calmly. So, Romney accused President Obama of having "declare[d] war on religion." Furthermore, Romney stated that religious freedom is threatened today, and essentially compared President Obama to the Soviet Union, a murderous dictatorship that, among numerous other terrible crimes, brutally suppressed its citizens' ability to practice their religious faith.

I'm honestly having trouble fully expressing how angry I am about this ad. This is not the first hateful thing the Romney campaign has done, having race-baited time and again throughout this campaign.

I've asked when the media will call the Romney campaign out on its racism. So has fellow Kossack chaunceydevega, in a post I highly recommend.

Now it's time to ask whether the media will call out Romney for seeking to divide people based on religion, and for painting Barack Obama as no different than the Soviet Union under Brezhnev.

I won't say this "war on religion" ad reaches a new low, because that would be a very high bar to clear (no pun intended). But it certainly reaches a different kind of low. Mitt Romney needs to answer for it.

The American people need to recognize this hatemonger for what he is.
