It's a riot! I can't believe Chris Hardwicke said "Holy shit!

Can you think of a better President/Vice President team this country has ever had than Obama/Biden?

I can't. Some barely tolerated each other. Some actively hated each other. Some, in the early days, weren't even from the same party. Obama and Biden complement each other perfectly.

Funny sign behind Tweety just now:

It was in the shape of a coffee cup, and it said "4 More Cups of Joe."

Street Harrassment Part II:

A couple of days ago, I posted about a minor incident that had just happened to me at a city bus stop. Some, perhaps understandably, felt I overreacted. But because of it, I am reminded of another incident that happened in the mid-90's that I had forgotten about -- at least consciously. This one was even more bizarre and potentially a lot more dangerous.

Like the other day, I was standing alone at a bus stop. However, the other day I was on a busy corner with lots of vehicular traffic. That bus stop is heavily frequented too; it was unusual for no one else to be there. In the incident in the '90's, I was waiting at a bus stop with little traffic and no one else around. It was on the street running behind the apartment building where I was living at the time. A guy rode past me on a bicycle and said "hi." He was going so fast I didn't respond, figuring he wouldn't be able to hear me anyway. I didn't see him turn around and come back, but all of a sudden there he was again. Of course, the alarm bells went off. He said, "What was that I didn't hear you." I said nothing. He said, "I'm tired of attitudes like yours. I've sacrificed all my life. You can just take your attitude somewhere else." By this time I'm wondering how long it would take me to get back to my building and get inside, but thankfully he rode off. It was terrifying. I had sort of forgotten it, but now I can remember exactly what he was wearing, and what he said. I even remember what color the bike was (red). Now that I think about it, I must have been remembering that incident the other night. Gentlemen, this is why women are wary of strange men on the street.

My Favorite Columnist on the First Presidential Debate and Voting Early

I do not agree that Obama's performance in the first debate was as bad as Steve Hammer said, but he does bring up one subtle point that I find interesting:

"He looked ill, unable to focus, and not exactly sure he wants a job where he has to persuade people he's better than someone like Mitt Romney."

Maybe that night, Obama was feeling that way, at least unconsciously. I can't say I blame him if he was.
