Oil companies are keeping gas prices inflated to help Republicans get elected in exchange for maintaining ongoing tax breaks.

They are taking advantage of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine to price gouge the entire country on gas prices. It helps get Republicans elected, and in a vicious circle, the oil companies make a bunch of money, some of which they kick back to Republican candidates who enact favorable tax laws for the energy companies.

Failed coup or dress rehearsal?

I honestly believe that some of the gun nuts who are stockpiling AR-15s and whining about a coming civil war have some crazy idea that they're going to use their hunting rifles to oppose the US Army and the National Guard the next time some tin pot dictator tells them to rally at the Capitol. Will they ever succeed? Probably not. For the time being, we have civilian control of the military, but what about the far right threads we have been finding throughout our military service ranks?

EVERYONE who participated in the coup must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. An example must be made of them so this doesn't keep happening, and so that far right wing nuts don't latch on to the idea that violence is the way to air their political grievances.
