How and WHY have the Republicans become an enemy of the people?

It is truly difficult to understand how an entire, entrenched political party would allow itself to become an outright enemyy of the people by standing so strongly against average Americans benefiting from anything at all in the way of political policy.

I have never been a Republican although I voted for Charles Percy of Ill. for senator because he opposed the war in Vietnam back in 1968. That is the only R vote I ever cast in my life. But what has happened to any semblance of sanity on their side of the aisle?

The only policy they are committed to is more tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans and any chance to jump into a war.

They oppose literally anything that benefits average people or the less fortunate in this country in terms of safety net social programs. Unemployment. Soc. Sec. Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, middle class tax cuts, equal pay, Dream Act, gay rights of any kind, you name it... they are diametrically opposed to any program that does not directly benefit the wealthy or largest corporations.

They would rather the NRA run roughshod over the Constitution with its distorted perspective than act in the safety of our children

They oppose anything Obama proposes on the budget unless it would somehow "penalize" most Americans and benefit the few at the top.

They oppose any cuts in the behemoth military budget and want to spend even more than is asked for.

It is like we are fighting a 7-headed hydra in the body of the Republican party.

Since this is how they want to play it, all we can do is cut off one head at a time till we're done with it once and for all and hopefully that day is coming.

Austerity sucks

Okay, you right wing assholes. I've had about enough of the bullshit.

Now you've come up with this new "Obama third term conspiracy". We just got over the birther bullshit, the Muslim, Socialist nonsense and we've even heard that he suppressed the vote and stole the election. Apparently some legislators in Wisconsin have decided that they will arrest any Federal authorities who try to implement Obamacare in their state in an almost outright act of sedition. McCain and Graham have tried to make a federal case out of Susan Rice (who did absolutely NOTHING wrong) hoping it can lead to an Obama impeachment, and you even talk about seceding from the Union. WTF planet do you idiots live on anyway?

We happen to live in this country called the United States and we have this thing called a Constitution for those of you who like to use that word and don't even know what the fuck it is. It is actually a list of freedoms and laws that govern our country. This constitution establishes a democratic republic form of governance which we have lived by for over 235 years now. As our founding fathers determined long ago, this is a nation of "LAWS" and that is the only way we can function as a free nation.

All you jerkoffs have done since the country had a constitutionally mandated election is try to undermine the will of the people. Personally, I would love to see a few of your asshat leaders thrown in the slammer for treason and sedition. Then the rest of you would just tuck your tails between your legs and whimper back to your rooms and cuddle with a gun. (I hope it.. never mind)

Here is how it works, assholes. We had an election. We won...you lost.
If you are a citizen of this country, then you agree to the terms if our free election and try to make it the best country possible under the law.
There is plenty of room for intelligent, constructive criticism , but I'm sick of hearing the absolutely nonsensical bullshit.
If you have problems with it, please get the fuck out of here. Go to fucking Paraguay or Uganda or something and you don't have to worry about sending a post card.

JUST GET THE FUCK OVER IT!

We keep hearing how the Republican party needs to redirect itself in order to survive for the good..

of the country. Even people like Rachel Maddow (whom I love and admire) talk about it and how we need a Republican party for the good of the country.

I'm not so sure I agree with that. We need an opposition party just for checks and balances, but I can never remember a time when the Republican party did anything that was good for the country. I believe Eisenhower's Interstate highway system was the last decent thing they ever did.

I was having a discussion at a party with a couple Republicans not long ago and I challenged them to name ONE THING Republicans ever did that was good for the average American in the past 50 years. Needless to say, they were completely stumped. I still offer this challenge to anyone who wants to take it.

The point is. I would see it as more of a euthanasia kind of thing and putting them out of OUR misery if the entire Republican party were to die once and for all. So, stop the emergency care already!

Admit it, Republicans.... you are almost as relieved as we are that Romney lost the election.

It's just a shame that your ignorant party politics took the country that close to a total disaster. But now you're glad that he's gone and you just want to pretend it never happened. But he was the face of what so many of you believe...and it's not easy looking in the mirror sometimes.

Why don't you try this?
How about you give your fellow Americans credit for electing the better man and give him a chance. That used to be S.O.P. back in the days you all claim to want to go back to. "Alright, we would say... we lost and now we have to give this other guy a chance and back him up."

Our side has done that every time. Even through Bush until he proved our worst fears. But your side stooped to impeaching Clinton and obstructing Obama like it's never been done in our history. You talk about seceding from the fucking country because the rich guy who was going to give himself a tax cut and raise your taxes to pay for it didn't get elected. WTF is that?

So take a deep breath... open your narrow minds and try to make this a better country by working TOGETHER for a change. Who knows?... You might even like it.

This could have the effect of a revolution occurring under the radar... just consider...

It looks like O is going to come out on top on Tuesday if all the indicators are accurate. Just think of what this says about our country.
The billionaires failed at buying the government of the people.
The cheating could not stand up to the actual vote.
The lying was unable to smother the truth and the ability to distinguish the difference.
The Tea Party will become obsolete.
Perhaps the Republican Party itself will be relegated to the history bin. (doubtful of that one, but who knows?)
The Supreme Court will be out of corporate control for the first time in decades.

There are more major ramifications to this election, so you can add your own .
But the point is this... If we re-elect Obama (as we damn well should), this election is very possibly a bigger revolution than the first one when we elected our first African-American president.

Is it just me, or is Mitt Romney the absolutely most unlikable person in the country?

I will truly have to move off the planet if I have to look at him and listen to his bullshit for 4 more years.
I shudder at the thought!

Do us all a favor and just go away.... for a very long time.
Pullllllleeeeeeeeeasssssssssssssssssssse

What Obama absolutely needs to point out at this last debate.

Obama needs to explain to people in the simplest terms possible the number of Bush people working with Romney. I am not sure of the exact numbers (perhaps one of you can fill them in) but he has about 7 people from the Bush team working as his economic advisors. We all know where they got us, and Romney's plan is almost exactly the same.
Beyond that, he has about 7 more of Bush's people working as his foreign policy advisors. If you love endless wars, these are your people.
The biggest problem with all this is that the average voter does not know about all this and the Prez only has one more chance to explain it to them. Of everything said about this election in the past year, the most compelling is when PBO says "We cannot go back to what got us here in the first place".
These "minor" details need to be spelled out in the simplest terms possible for the last big audience on Monday.

Freedom isn't free?

Why is that saying only applies when we're talking about the lives of men and women fighting in wars, but when we ask the wealthiest Americans to pay another nickel in taxes... suddenly freedom is supposed to be free?

October 13, 2012

Great!... And here's another one..

Why is it that when we're talking about the lives of men and women in war they say "Freedom isn't free" But when we ask the wealthiest people in the country to pay another dime in taxes, all of a sudden Freedom is supposed to be free?
