The staggered early departures are another anti-transition move

Esper, Chao, and Devos, Barr and the many other early resignations leave gaping holes in the puzzle of the activities of the Trump administration.

It will take a massive forensic effort to ramp up and then root out the disloyal people installed in federal agencies to undermine the government.

Some are easy to find—like Barr’s daughter at the IRS and Dejoy at the Postal Service. But many more are unknowns. Dejoy abruptly fired 33 tenured postal executives replacing them overnight with less knowledgeable people to say the least.

There’s no telling who has been appointed in agencies like the EPA, FCC and the Department of Agriculture and the rest.

Biden will be in unprecedented territory when he assumes office. I hope that he appoints someone to oversee federal government agencies as a whole to restore their integrity and passes a law to keep the integrity in place in line with the sworn oath taken by every federal employee.

Elected officials should not have to risk their lives to serve the country.

Immediate legislation must be passed to stop the continuing encroachment by right wing terrorists on not just political rights but the right to exist and live and breathe.

Little to nothing was done to stamp out any further action against elected officials after Gabby Giffords was shot and her career ended. The decade or so since has led to the insurrection with incident after incident in between -- and no firm action to stop it. During Obamas term the fence around the White House was breached multiple times terrorizing him and his family. After Obama left office drones have been flown over his home and pictures splayed over social media multiple times basically invading his privacy and security. Then we just saw Pelosi's house vandalized following open threats against the life of the governor of Michigan. And then we had the rudimentary spray painting of Mitch McConnell's house even though threats and attacks against Democrats seem to be of a more serious nature than their Republican counterparts--yet equivalencies are drawn as though they are equal.

The solution must liken threats of harm against elected officials to the level of yelling fire in a crowded theater.

Speech that gives any appearance of leading to or inciting harm, threats or actual injury to any elected officials or to those assigned to protect them in service of the American people cannot be tolerated.

Storming was used to steal the election in 2000 for George Bush. It was used more in 2020 with the over taking of the Michigan capital and the attempt led by Matt Gaetz to compromise the SCIF during meetings on impeachment. Now it’s being used to threaten the national legislature as of yesterday and there are threats to interfere with the inauguration and other state and local political activities and locations.

It should and must become a forbidden practice with severe unpardonable consequences.
