Last Days of Summer at Stinson Beach
Last Days of Summer at Stinson BeachFor those unfamiliar with the Bay Area, Stinson Beach is just a bit north of San Francisco. Like the city, the weather here during summer can be downright cold and cloudy/foggy. It wasn't particularly cold today but it probably isn't what you think of when you think California beaches in summer season.

Trying to find an image
(cross posted from Omaha Steve's Labor Group)
I recall, once upon a time, seeing a poster (drawing) of a woman holding a child out above/in front of her during a labor strike/pitched battle during the late 1800's/early 1900's. Don't know if it was a Harper's Illustrated image, or something else. Also don't know which action it was; the Homestead Steel strike, or another.
Does anyone remember seeing this? It was a fairly famous image, as I recall.
EDIT: I recall this as being a pro-Labor poster; the woman was not trying to shield herself, rather, she was holding the child up as if to say "We are mothers, we have children," while facing a line of armed men/soldiers/cops/strikebreakers.
