Lasted about 14 seconds with Chuck Todd, then grabbed the remote. Surfed a bit, surprised to find an old "Cagney and Lacey". Turns out it's about immigrants and deportation, and some of the conversation could be happening today. Can't help wishing we'd come farther since the 1980s.

Sometimes

Sometimes it just gets to be too much. Sat down with my second cup of coffee and flicked on the news. Briefly listened to Scalise/Cheney/McCarthy whimper about the articles of impeachment against Trump, and found myself wondering again how in the world we’d arrived at this place. Escape mode clicked in and I grabbed the remote to find that the History Channel is running something called “Neanderthal Apocalypse”. Hmmmm……

Nadler v Gohmert

It was an interesting moment. Gohmert was yammering away, doing his part to disrupt the hearing. But when he started with his ad hominem comments about Democratic members Nadler shut him down, admonishing Gohmert that “...you will not cast aspersions…” . Gohmert opened and closed his mouth a couple of times, then just sat back.

Yes, I was remembering when Gohmert advised Eric Holder to “not cast aspersions on my asparagus.”

Intended to invoke that memory or not, well done Mr. Nadler.
