(2-16 "press conference"
Last time I saw a speech like this was in a newsreel from the 1930s.
Most of the world remembers that as a horrible warning. Clearly, Trump sees it as a template.
Fuck.

One ringy dingy, two ringy dingies...
I just now called both Colorado senators about the Mulvaney nomination.
Gardner's office answered with the recorded after-hours leave a message tape.
Bennet's office, a real person answered, took note of my comments, and then THANKED me for calling.
Senator Michael Bennet (D): 202-224-5852
"senator" Cory Gardner (R): 202-224-5941

Not just the times that are a-changin'
Back in the 1970s I rented a 4-bedroom 2-bath house with a large yard and garage. The lease was one page.
Today, I renewed the lease on my little, very unfancy apartment; the document is 27 small-font pages long.
Something sure as heck has trickled down into landlord-tenant stuff.

Gloves coming off?
...reckless, incompetent, and strategically incoherent. Pelosi, describing Trump administration.

Want to take a walk?
Tip a wheelbarrow of marbles of varying size onto a patio surrounded by steep cliffs. There are no railings. Toss some loose boards on top of the marbles. Fling a few handfuls of broken glass into the mix while squirting streams of oil into random spaces. Kick off your shoes and socks, tie a blindfold securely around your eyes, and put your wrists in handcuffs behind your back. Spin around a dozen times. Now, how confident are you in walking across that patio and back? Thats what it feels like to navigate a once-familiar landscape now under the pall of Trumpworld.
