Will Trump try a pre-emptive pardon for himself and his accomplices?
Yup, that's the thought I woke up with. I need coffee.

Who will be the first member of Team Trump to seek asylum in Moscow?

Shes a lawyer too: Trumps Supreme Court pick snaps at Amy Klobuchar
Donald Trumps nominee to fill the Supreme Court vacancy, Neil Gorsuch, lost his cool under the intensity of Senator Amy Klobuchars questioning during the confirmation hearing. Breaking from his generally overly-polished presentation, Gorsuch appeared visibly irritated, interrupted the Senator, raised his voice, and spoke to her in a remarkably patronizing manner.
Notably, before being elected as the first woman to the U.S. Senate for Minnesota, Klobuchar graduated from Yale, earned a law degree from University of Chicago, and headed the largest prosecutors office in her state for eight years.
...
GORSUCH: Can I answer you, Senator, cause Im almost there. Okay. So I write to point out this conflict in the supreme courts directions that I saw.
KLOBUCHAR: Okay.
GORSUCH: And then I said in our case, Byron White, it doesnt matter. Because Colorado couldnt meet even rational basis test, forget about whether its strict scrutiny or something close to strict scrutiny, it couldnt meet rational basis test because Colorado couldnt articulate any good reason, maybe theres one out there, I dont know, but they have articulated nothing.
KLOBUCHAR: Okay, but, lets continue with other cases because its a bit of a pattern.

Gorsuchs Bizarre Unforced Error on Partisan Judges
Seth Masket, political science professor at the University of Denver, calls out U.S. Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch for a fairly surprising misstatement during confirmation hearings:
https://twitter.com/YahooNews/status/844184009949220864/photo/1
Masket is correct: the states of Alabama, Illinois, Louisiana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Texas, and West Virginia all hold partisan elections to their state supreme courts. In addition, 20 states hold partisan elections for trial court judges. Several other states have a hybrid system of partial partisan elections for the judiciary.
So, whats the deal with this? We dont think it rises to the level of perjury, being an apparently innocent misstatement. But Gorsuch is being sold as one of the nations greatest legal minds, and theres just no excuse for him not knowing full well that many parts of America indeed have Republican judges and Democratic judges.

Is Gorsuch dissembling?
Gorsuch says he has no knowledge of Supreme Court justices comporting with special interests who have cases pending before the court. Seriously?? Hes not aware of circumstances that have been part of the public conversation, especially since the Citizens United decision? Really, sir? REALLY???
.
Reuters is reporting (accdg. to Maddow)
that Tillerson is planning to skip the NATO meeting next month, but will make time to visit Moscow next month.
Really. The only question is, why doesn't he just defect and get it over with?
Unbefuckingdamnlievable.
.
Now THIS is as it should be.
Trump is rallying his base, and only Fox is showing it. Neither CNN nor MSNBC is showing it, not even a split-screen. About damned time.
