George Romney released twelve years' tax returns when he ran for president.

His son releases two years' returns and claims the Fifth Amendment.

Hmmm.

Women are messing up our elections

from the column Gnarly Trombone by Mike Peters

Well, it’s about time!

They talked about this a few years ago, and now it’s come up again.

We’ve heard several people in the past couple of weeks who were talking or writing about what a BIG MISTAKE we made by giving women the vote in 1920.

These people, all far-right conservatives, said that because women are now voting, we have too many votes going for the Democrats. They said, “If women weren’t voting, every Republican candidate since 1960 would have won the presidency.” (Except Barry Goldwater, that is. Even women knew he was a little bit nuts.)

Even in areas where the Poudre is clear, businesses are suffering

The link is to a news story about the Poudre River above the burn area (High Park fire near Ft. Collins CO). Check it out. If you've ever wanted to vacation in Colorado, these cabins and lodges have lots of vacancies due to cancellations.

It's beautiful in the Poudre Canyon, and trout fishing is superb. We've been having some rain, the air is clear, and the roads are open. Please come visit!
