Went down to the OFA office to do my usual data entry job. They were re-arranging the furniture, bringing in some extra chairs and arranging them theater style, and that usually means a speaker or a video. The computer bank is off to one side, so I just kept at it since my furniture-moving days are far behind. After a bit, I shut down my computer as about 60 college kids swarmed in and chattered excitedly as we awaited our "guests".
Sure enough, in walked a group of 30ish people, one young lady and several young men. They spoke eloquently and passionately about why it's important to re-elect President Obama, sharing personal stories and exhorting their audience to volunteer with the campaign for at least an hour or two. Then they posed for a group photo with the delighted students, and delivered autographs to those who promised to volunteer.
After the hubbub died down and the furniture was put back, one of the other volunteers handed me a flier with pictures of those youngsters. Their names are Rachael Leigh Cook, Zachary Quinto, Benjamin McKenzie, and Nick Zano. I'm told they do movies and television. But I was impressed with their several presentations, their dedication to this campaign and their expressed love for the country. I'm thankful for them, but I still don't know who they are! Like I said, I'm old.
Here's a pic our office put on Facebook. I think I forgot one of the names, cut me some slack, okay?
