madamesilverspurs's JournalAdventures in bumper stickering in a red county
There I was, sitting behind the wheel in the grocery store parking lot, stopped at the pedestrian crosswalk. One of those pedestrians stopped in front of my car, pointed at my Biden bumper stickers, did a little dance, dropped her mask to give a big grin with two thumbs up, then waved as she proceeded into the store. I waved back. That was one of the more delightful sticker encounters Ive had; most have been brief chats with people happy to know they arent alone.
On the flip side, there have been a few opposition notes stuck on my windshield. And twice Ive come out of the store to find Trump stickers on the car. Another clever soul left a length of crime scene tape across my windows. The car still has the key scratches running the length of both sides left by someone who objected to the stickers Id added just two weeks after I got the car.
So why do I keep doing the stickers? Because I enjoy those brief affirming encounters. As for the less pleasant ones what does it say about those who can only sneak up on an unoccupied car parked in a handicap space? So much for the courage of their conviction.

Prepping for Tuesday
Voted, my ballot was received and accepted and will be counted. Now I'm prepping my wardrobe for Tuesday. I'll be wearing this to honor the one who got 3 million more votes; also honoring the many millions thumbing their noses at republican attempts to thwart their votes, standing in line for hours, doing whatever it takes to make sure the travesty is not repeated.
Casting call?
It's done. McConnell has written the epitaph.
Its done. McConnell has written the epitaph.
The confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett is about more than filling the ninth seat at the Supreme Court. It is, in reality, a transferring of the diseased rot of a dying republican party, extending from Capitol Hill to the bench of the highest court, where the moral emaciation will continue, and the ensuing exhalations will carry the obvious stench of decay.
Rather than continuing as an institution that seeks the ideals of justice, the court now becomes just another instrument of the Republicans exertion of power gained at any cost. The effect of that misbegotten quest will be a toxic presence, blighting the court for years to come, perhaps for generations, thanks to Mitch McConnell and his grasping collaborators. The Barrett confirmation is nothing less than the death rattle of what used to be known as the grand old party.

Used to be
At Biden's inauguration --
How about Justice Sotomayor administering his oath of office?
No reason to honor Roberts with the task, is there?

Did Trump mistake Biden for Moscow Mitch?
Wasn't it Mitch's PAC that took $3.5million from Russia?

Here in Greeley, it's been twilight since dawn.
From https://www.facebook.com/EstesParkNews --
Its 2:00 pm, but dark as night in downtown Estes Park! All shops and businesses are closed... its like a ghost town except for all of the vehicles trying to flee. We are evacuating along with so many others who are trying to get out of town during this mandatory evacuation from the East Troublesome Fire!
