Irony Alert

This photo graces the front page of the E-edition of the Greeley Tribune. It's a group of northern Colorado republican officials holding a public event at a gas station to complain that high prices are the fault of President Biden and Governor Polis. They apparently don't know (or don't care) that Shell Oil enjoyed $9.1B in profits in the first quarter of 2022.

When he rode that escalator to announce his candidacy...

...the first thing I noticed was the direction he was headed. Lousy optics, looks like he's going down. Guess what? He's still going down, and it's getting much warmer where he's headed. The good news is that he's no longer taking the country with him. Here's hoping the baby trumpsters in state and county governments join him in November.

Gotta wonder --

After tonight's hearing and promise of further revelations, how many congressional trumpsters are making sure their passports are up-to-date?

Criminy.

Things have been tight for a lot of folks. As we transition into warmer weather, we look forward to a little breathing room since turning off the furnace. And then the gas bill arrives from Atmos, shocking us with a tab that is more than double that of the previous month. In my neighborhood everyone is hollering, the most common utterance being "What the hell?!" None of us got advance notice, and Atmos isn't saying anything. Instead of the relief we had every reason to expect, Atmos chose to add to everyone's burden. And that just plain sucks.
