Obama on the ground in San Berdo - Going on 3 1/2 hours

Spending a lot of time with the families and first responders.

The Donald Trump Saga - Another episode of Republicans are wimps

The party leaders can't control him, now they are admitting that fact. They are afraid that he will go indie, and they have no plan, no leadership ability to manage the situation. This is not a new, they talk like bad asses, but when confronted with real issues they fold.

Larry Craig, they did nothing
David Vitter, they did nothing
Mark Sanford, they did nothing

Contrast with Rahm, Weiner, a Democrat fucks up and gets taken down by Democrats.

Turn on MSNBC right fuggin now!

If you want to catch the ten minutes of non-Trump programming.

Covering the Presidents speech on slavery, although when it is over I am sure they will have a discussion on what does Donald think.

Tip of the hat to Malaise.

Occam's Razor

He is an ego maniac that wants to be President.

Doesn't care what he says, who is hurt, as long as he wins.

There is one thing I don't get about many, if not the majority of Liberals and Democrats

That is all the comments/posts regarding shock over the latest Trump comment. (Or any repub for that matter)

The night Sarah Palin was rolled out I was shocked, then over the next few weeks I saw how they loved her, those embarrassed by her still voted for McCain. Through the 2008 elections there were numerous times I was shocked until I gave in and realized they repubs would say anything to win. The final time Republican behavior shocked me was reading the reports post inauguration of the repub leaders planning on using al Qaeda tactics on the President. During the worst financial crisis of our lives they stated they would do anything to take him down. I waited a few days, waited for some repubs to chastise those in the meeting, waited for the media to call them out, neither happened.

Then we had constant bullshit and in each case the best effort any repub could offer was to do nothing. "You lied," no condemnations but support. The President is a Muslim and wasn't born here, nothing. Case after case of opportunities for a repub leader to do the right thing, but nothing. They never take care of their own issues, look at the list of republican scandals, they never clean up, tell the person they are done and need to step aside, never happens.

So, I am not shocked, why would I be? Winning at all costs is a badge of honor for most repubs. Throw in the deep hate they have for all things different, people darker than them, people who worship differently than them, people with different sexuality, and people who think differently than they do. Many know how to hide it, know it goes against their religion, but that hate and fear is too powerful for them to overcome so when push comes to shove, they would cast a vote for Trump, or Cruz, anyone with an R by their name.

On my daily trips to FB I notice the right wing political posts outnumber the liberal posts by about 10 to 1. And 90 plus percent are slams against Democrats, while the political posts from my friends are 90 plus percent supportive posts of a candidate or of an issue. Repubs are just different, they have the ability to be so fucking wrong about well everything but still get up and post anti Obama or Clinton, or Sanders comments and never reflect on failures their chosen leaders. And that might be part of the issue, it is easier to hate all the others, including liberals, than to admit their own failures.

Pareto Principle

The Pareto principle (also known as the 80–20 rule, the law of the vital few, and the principle of factor sparsity)[1] states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.[2] Management consultant Joseph M. Juran suggested the principle and named it after Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who, while at the University of Lausanne in 1896, published his first paper "Cours d'économie politique." Essentially, Pareto showed that approximately 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the population; Pareto developed the principle by observing that 20% of the peapods in his garden contained 80% of the peas.[3]

It is a common rule of thumb in business; e.g., "80% of your sales come from 20% of your clients." Mathematically, the 80–20 rule is roughly followed by a power law distribution (also known as a Pareto distribution) for a particular set of parameters, and many natural phenomena have been shown empirically to exhibit such a distribution.[4]

This principle is used quite often in business, often not effectively. (More on that later)

Along with the sales example, inventory costs almost always fall into an 80/20 split. That is eighty percent of inventory costs come from twenty percent of inventory items. Also eighty percent of help desk support requests are from twenty percent of customers. I have heard it broken down into the "trivial many and the critical few."

The issue is how to properly manage the trivial many. In Sales, or Materials Management, or IT support, or various other areas, if you give equal weight to the trivial many, or even worse, focus on them due to the sheer numbers, then you end up swamped. You aren't focusing on the big deal or resolutions, rather you are pulled down into the bullshit trivial issues.

So it is not the principle that fails in business, it is due to forces wanting to focus on the trivial. Often this focus on the trivial is based upon petty politics. Focusing on the trivial never results in optimal results regardless if the forces are meaning to focus on the trivial or they are just unable to comprehend the big picture.

So why am I wasting your time on Bus.101? Because every gun thread I have ever seen on DU quickly gets bogged down by trivial bullshit. "The stats are wrong," "here are some BS stats from NRA sources," "that person or the OP doesn't know the difference between automatic and semi auto," "hand guns kill more people than long guns," blah, blah blah.

It is trivial fucking bullshit, some be design, so don't fall for it. We have a gun problem in this country, period end of fucking discussion. If there are people who do not admit there is a problem and only offer up the trivial BS noise rather than discussion of solutions there is one effective method to manage them. Trivialize them, ignore them, yes they will get loud, throw tantrums, claim that elections will be lost due to them being ignored. But the fact is, it is just more trivial bullshit.

Who is to blame for the rise of Trump? One guess who MSNBC is pushing

Damn dog woke me up at 5:00 AM on a day off work, go downstairs and turn on morning joe and am educated on who is to blame for the support of Trump. Yup, Obama's fault! You see he was petty and snarky on foreign soil last week. And as per Joe, Obama responded to some candidate who is polling less than 2%. (I can't figure that one out, iirc, Obama insinuated all Repiggies as chicken shit wusses). So the electorate is responding to the President being weak and petty by turning to the strong decisive bully. Now how that explains the previous few months, I have no damn clue.

Later it was brought up by another talking head on Jose's show, so obviously it is the talking point for today.

Yesterday there was a thread stating the repubs need to take ownership of the Donald, IT WON'T HAPPEN. This is a party that never takes responsibility, it is always someone else's fault. And that someone had a D following his or her name.

Democrats are friggen Wimps and it adds to our losses.

It is flat out disgusting how MSNBC can roll out multiple Dems not supporting bringing in refugees.
No solutions, just he standard wait and see/pause approach.

It is 10k refugees, highly vetted. So rather than saying we need to take precautions, which are in place, and educating the American public on global warming drought and a failed Iraq policy from the previous administration causing the situation, the play right into the republican pause approach.

Chicken shit fucking wimps.

Major Disaster set to hit Continent - U.S. Ambassador is....

Not in place, because the Repubs won't confirm Obama nominee. Specifically held up by Rubio because he is throwing a tantrum on Cuba.

As a non HRC supporter I must say

She likely won the GE today. That was a complete fucking beat down of the Repiggies. In a football game there is five minutes left in the 4th qtr, and the piggies should be clearing the bench, run straight up the middle and kill the clock. They won't and will throw up a few Hail Mary's that will be picked off.

She beat them silly without any snark, without coming off condescending, without getting angry and without ever calling them out on the Bush/911 hypocrisy. She is now in a position where, with a 35 point lead, she can take back an interception, spike it in the end zone, gyrate towards their bench, and flip them the bird and not be flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.
