Gut bacteria regulate nerve fibre insulation
Far from being silent partners that merely help to digest food, the bacteria in your gut may also be exerting subtle influences on your thoughts, moods, and behaviour. And according to a new study from researchers at University College Cork, your gut microbes might affect the structure and function of the brain in a more direct way, by regulating myelination, the process by which nerve fibres are insulated so that they can conduct impulses properly.
The surprising new findings, published today in the journal Translational Psychiatry, provide what is perhaps the strongest evidence yet that gut bacteria can have a direct physical effect on the brain, and suggest that it may one day be possible to treat debilitating demyelinating diseases such as multiple sclerosis, and even psychiatric disorders, by altering the composition of the gut’s microbial menagerie in some way or another.

Using the same approach taken in their previous study, the researchers compared gene expression levels in the germ-free mice to that seen in normal animals. They identified approximately 90 genes that are differentially expressed in the germ-free animals and, to their surprise, they found that a handful of them are well known to be involved in myelination, and appear to be far more active in the prefrontal cortex of germ-free mice compared to that of normal animals. Some of the genes they identified encode proteins that form structural components of myelin, while others play a regulatory role in myelin formation.

John Cryan and Gerard Clarke of the APC Microbiome Institute are particularly interested in how gut bacteria might influence the brain structures involved in anxiety-like behaviours. Last year, they published evidence that germ-free mice, which are completely devoid of gut bacteria, exhibit altered gene expression in the amygdala, a small, almond-shaped brain structure that is critical regulating emotions and social behaviour. The animals were reared in highly sterile conditions, so that bacteria cannot colonise their guts after birth – as a result certain genes involved in neuronal function appear to more active in their brains compared to those of normal mice.

Senator Carl Levin of Michigan, who is retiring next year, has long tried to pass legislation that would make it harder to incorporate anonymous companies (SHELL COMPANIES) in the US. He had support from groups like the Fraternal Order of Police, the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, and various financial watchdogs, but his efforts haven't led anywhere. This was in large part due to opposition from lawmakers in those states that rake in especially big revenues through incorporating companies, especially Delaware and Nevada.

During the 2008 campaign, the Clintons released their tax returns through 2006, along with preliminary data for 2007. The LLC was created in 2008 in Delaware, according to the AP.
President Barack Obama has proposed to tighten the tax rules, and the administration's most recent budget proposal says "the uncertainty surrounding the treatment of LLC members undermines the IRS's ability to unsure payment" of payroll taxes.

The language in Judge Royce Lamberth's order undercut the Democratic presidential contender's assertion she was allowed to set up a private email server in her home for her work as the country's top diplomat and that the arrangement was not particularly unusual.
He described Clinton's email arrangement as "extraordinary" in his order filed on Tuesday in federal district court in Washington.
Referring to the State Department, Clinton and Clinton's aides, he said there had been "constantly shifting admissions by the Government and the former government officials."

FAKE Journalist Udo Ulfkotte Makes A Comeback As Putin Propagandist

I've written about the "journalist" Udo Ulfkotte over the years and was pleased that he seemed to have faded from view, disappearing into the pages of the 9/11 Truther Site of Kopp Verlag. Ulfkotte distinguished himself as a racist and anti-Islam hatemonger, demanding that all Muslims be deported from Germany in order to create more Lebensraum for ethnic Germans. For years he has been publishing articles and books that distort the truth, or are outright lies. A few examples: Ulfkotte claimed that Muslims were waging a "fecal Jihad" against Germans"because Turkish women were allegedly defecating in fields of strawberries that were exported to Germany. He warned Germans to stay away from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, since black African "savages" were planning to rape and murder European visitors. Of course, President Obama is one those black African savages - or at least a 'half-breed" - whom he hates. He lied that Obama was persecuting Christians in the United States, and had given orders to burn Bibles. I could go on and on. Actually, I cannot identify any examples where the "journalist" Udo Ulfkotte reported truthfully about anything.
Ulfkotte was pretty much ignored by legitimate news outlets. Or he was derisively dismissed as a conspiracy nut. But two events happened last year that revitalized his career in fake journalism: the unfolding events in the Ukraine and the rise of the "Pegida movement". The Ukraine crisis allowed Ulkotte to latch onto the Russian propaganda outlets and accuse the Western media of being controlled by the CIA. Also the Lügenpresse! battle-cry of the Pegida protesters has given Ulfkotte a convenient cover to go after the journalists who scorned or ignored him in the past. Now he can lie about how the mainstream press is in the pocket of the CIA:
Dr. Ulfkotte says the corruption of journalists and major news outlets by the CIA is routine, accepted, and widespread in the western media, and that journalists who do not comply either cannot get jobs at any news organization, or find their careers cut short.
