I was trying to post a thread on here that our former PM gave

an interview why he did not want to join the US and the Brits to invade Iraq, somehow, it did not get through. That PM is Chretien and by so doing, he saved Canada and our economy!

Thank you to the DU Admins

I want to thank the DU Admins for this place - Skinner, EarlG and Elad for this wonderful site, you guys are the best!

I feel so nostalgic with the upcoming inauguration of President Obama for his second term. The last four years have been a roller coaster of what the President could or could not accomplish. To me, he tried his best, sometimes, I too thought he was a bit naive, hoping he could work with the republicans. Do not know if he learnt that they are not willing to work with him!

All am trying to say is that America is still a land of opportunity and am looking forward to President Obama being inaugurated for a second term. Goodluck Mister President, You did well!

I really think President Obama did well, he did not cave but

tried his best to negotiate. Never ever forget my fellow DUers what he inherited. The Pugs never wanted him to get a second term, they tried their best to block him every which way but he prevailed, for that, as a Canadian, am happy.

I really wish I could tell you all how I really feel about President Obama, but then you might think I am adulating him. Best President ever!

With that, happy New Year everyone.

Oh man, President Obama kicked Romney's ass tonight and by

the way, Romney did not win the first debate!

Go President Obama, knew you would come back stronger and I know you will get another term!

That's all!

Is this Supreme Court ruling good for Americans, am just asking!

Or would it have been better if the SC overruled and get single payer on the table if President Obama got elected. From all accounts, President Obama could be re-elected but we cannot count our chickens before they are hatched.

I just hope President Obama gets elected but you all have to work hard to get people to go vote!

How does it work in the US during an upcoming election?

Is the House and Senate dissolved pending voting or do they continue as normal until election day. Canada is a bit different, just wanted to know how it goes in the US!

If this is a silly question, then I am sorry but just curious!

Dear DUers, are any of you members of Avaaz?

I have supported them in the past with monetary donation, however, earlier today I received a message that they are being hacked and looking for donations to pay lawyers! Any idea if this is real?

Not sure if this is the place to post this but never ever have I

seen people disrespecting an elected President like on some sites. How do we support President Obama when you not living in the US?

I think we need a fun forum on here, where we can come in and tell

fun stories or day to day activities which are not captured in the regular forums!

Just a suggestion. The lounge is so formal!

Happy Easter everybody
