NJ Editorial Board On Christie: Impeach Or Resign If He Knew

Source: Talking Points Memo

Daniel Strauss – January 31, 2014, 5:04 PM EST

The editorial board for The New Jersey Star-Ledger is calling for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) to either step down or be impeached if new accusations are proven true.

The editorial board made the call in an editorial published Friday afternoon shortly after The New York Times reported that the former executive that ran the Port Authority of New Jersey and New York said he had evidence proving that the lane closures at the George Washington Bridge were directed by Christie's administration.

"Forget about the White House in 2016. The question now is whether Gov. Chris Christie can survive as governor," the editorial began.

The board cautioned though that the claims of the former official, David Wildstein, needed to be proven true first.

This can help to stay warm if you go outside and it is 10 below (for a short time layers..(cheap)

This is a suggestion, may or may not work for you, but should help..

Can a person stay warm outside for relatively cheap..if ten below??
and.... for a relatively short time...., if you must go out..
Well..yes...this is a suggestion...maybe it will work for you.......
. but it requires some planning..(not much.)

First..it is not pretty, but I do not enter clothes contests..those days are over..
(when this cold, no one cares what anyone looks like, anyway..)

What do you need?...nothing extra, you probably have these items already...here we go.

two tee shirts.
three old sweat shirts. (change to one old sweat shirt)
maybe 2 heavy sweaters over the sweat shirt .
one light spring/ fall jacket
one heavy winter jacket.
one good hat., and a ski mask. to cover face..
and two scarves...very important to have at least one very good scarf over face. (wrapped around the face)
good strong pants.
maybe a pair of sweat pants under your pants.
good gloves, and a pair of mittens over gloves..
decent shoes or boots, with two pair of socks on feet..

So it is very very cold. Those two or three sweat shirts, covered by the sweater and light spring jacket, covered by your winder coat, will keep you warm..Of course, yes, it is a good winter coat, but the other layers act as insulation on top of each other. Ski mask and scarves protect face, and the

scarf around face warms the air that enters lungs....that is extremely important.

It isn't pretty but it would work for maybe 10/15 minutes, or till the car warms up, or the bus comes.
....this is not a new idea, but enough layers, and there enough layers here, can keep you warm, for relatively inexpensive amount. but you must have those scarves on your face to warm the air entering your lungs. This is what I read....people can argue about this,,that is ok.....take it as a suggestion that might work. worked for me..
Everyone has their own way to deal with this. This is mine.. All other suggestions are desired and wanted , please add your own..because .......

.... it is cold out there..................

An 80-year-old man hobbles into confession and says to the

grandchildren. Last night I had an affair with two 18-year-old girls. I
made love with both of them............ Twice." The priest said, "Well

"Never Father, I'm
Jewish." "Jewish! Then, why are you telling me?" asks the priest
"Telling You??

Virginia State Legislature Bans American Flags on Sticks but Lets Guns In: Think Progress

NO....I did not make this up, it is at the above link....here is part of the article:

By Rebecca Leber on January 24, 2014 at 10:24 am

What is the bigger risk inside a state capitol building: openly carrying an American flag or an assault rifle? In Virginia, visitors to the state legislature can not bring American flags and signs affixed to sticks, because capitol security considers sticks a public threat. Firearms, however, are allowed.

A group of gun violence prevention activists discovered this when they arrived on Monday to attend Martin Luther King, Jr. Day event. According to Virginia Capitol Police, the groups were informed beforehand of the restriction barring sticks at permitted rallies, because they can be used as weapons. Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America’s Gena Reeder said they were aware of the rules, but “certainly not in our wildest imagination thought that could apply to the American flag.”

While the moms tore out the dowels of their flags, capitol grounds visitors with firearms were ushered through the entrance. That day, Virginia Citizens Defense League and other gun rights groups organized a “Guns Save Lives” day. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that about half of the crowd was armed, packing weapons that ranged from handguns to assault rifles.

Thai Police: U.S. Tourist Was Likely Killed by Elephants

Source: New York Times, AP

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS , JAN. 23, 2014, 8:54 A.M. E.S.T.

BANGKOK — Park rangers in Thailand have found the body of an American tourist who was apparently trampled to death by elephants in a reserve outside Bangkok, police said Thursday.

The woman went missing Jan. 13 in Thailand's Kaeng Krachan National Park in the western province of Petchaburi, said police Col. Woradet Suanklaai.

She was found crumpled in the woods five days later, after a 70-person search team was deployed, and the severity of the injuries indicated she was likely trampled to death.

"Her arms, her wrists and other parts of the body were broken, so we assumed she was trampled by elephants because no humans could have caused such powerful damage to the body," Woradet said. Police sent the body to a forensic institute in the capital to determine the cause of death, he said.

This is like the people that want to get real close to one of the water falls in Yellowstone Park and somehow they fall in. The story says she left her campgrounds and went looking to take some pictures. I guess she frightened them. I wonder if this will keep others from doing the same thing. I doubt it.

A Guide to The Four New Jersey Mayors Who Say Christie Was A Big Bully

Source: Talking Points Memo

Eric Lach – January 22, 2014, 10:52 AM EST

The George Washington Bridge lane closures scandal isn't just about the bridge and the lanes anymore. While all the attention at first was focused on Fort Lee, N.J. Mayor Mark Sokolich -- whose decision not to endorse Gov. Chris Christie's (R) re-election last year was seen by some as the motivation for the traffic-jamming closures -- in recent days a number of other New Jersey mayors have come forward with fresh allegations about actions taken by Christie's administration. These mayors say they've gotten their own taste Christie retaliation:
1) Mark Sokolich, Fort Le

He's the mayor who started it all. Sokolich first suggested that political motives were behind the lane closures just days after "traffic problems" hit his town in September.

2) Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop made a cameo appearance in the subpoenaed documents released two weeks ago by state lawmakers.

"Radio silence […] His name comes right after mayor Fulop," former Port Authority of New York and New Jersey executive David Wildstein emailed to former Christie aide Bridget Kelly on Sept. 9, the day the lane closures began, after Kelly apparently asked Wildstein if another Port Authority executive had called back Sokolich.
