About Me

I thought I knew a lot, and I found out... how little I knew about what I know. And how much more there is to learn, if I listen and read what others have to say.

John Boehner hit it out the park with this true statement, Three words, "It's too divided."

"It's too divided," Boehner said of the Trump administration, explaining why he did not want to return to Congress.

He is the 2nd republican who publically stated the reason for leaving was Mr Trump vs the other republicans... I wish I could recall the person's name, but another one said the reason he was not staying in congress is that is all he was asked about was ..."What do you think of what Trump did?" He was very tired of having to defend Trump, explain Trump, or try to calm the crowd down, because what "Mr Trump was doing, was going to do or what he did".. Or what Mr. Trump said about this or that.

....There was no other focus for discussion said that politician. I am guessing, (don't know..so it is a guess) that this is..the major reason why so many of them are leaving congress. They can't take it. Trump is one hard act to defend...and that is it. The republicans cannot take it. Trump is their leader, and they can't take it any more.

We have a great opportunity to take back both houses of congress this fall. I sure hope we take advantage of this very special opportunity..

Roseanne learned a very simple lesson: You don't want everyone to know something,.then,

don't put the words on twitter or the internet..NEVER...!!!

Often taking it back, what you said...does not work...too late and too bad...

A much better idea on something like that, ..(or anything truly offensive)...SHUT THE FUCK UP..

and, don't put it up there in the first place...

Study finds tht Puerto Rican Death Toll is 70 Times Greater than Reported.TPM: (over 4600)

According to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine Tuesday, researchers have concluded that the death toll in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria is more than 70 times the official count of 64 casualties, adding a lowball figure of at least 4,645 unrecorded deaths.

Per the study, it is especially challenging to tally death tolls after disasters like Hurricane Maria when infrastructure and health resources have fallen apart. The CDC reportedly classifies deaths as attributable to the storm if they are caused by “forces related to the event, such as flying debris, or if they are caused by unsafe or unhealthy conditions resulting in injury, illness, or loss of necessary medical services.”

The process is made even more difficult in Puerto Rico because all disaster-related deaths must be verified by the Institute of Forensic Sciences, which entails either transporting all the bodies to San Juan or waiting for a medical examiner to travel out and check the corpse.

The survey found that interrupted medical care was the most prominent cause of death in the months after the storm, and that there was a high correlation between remoteness and loss of health services and electricity.

The authors of the study conclude that, based on their research, there are probably about 5,000 dead Puerto Ricans who have gone thus far uncounted.

In discussing the "Memorial Day Trump Tweet", a DU member described it perfectly

You can see the original comment in post number 8, on this thread:

"Just when we think he can't sink any lower.........

He proves us wrong, once again."

This is the infamous, "Memorial Day Trump Tweet" that is being referenced to:

“Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today. Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice!”........ he tweeted at 8:58 a.m. today 5/28/18....

A very short joke, ...A 6 year old, learning to write, writes a short note to God...

Dear God....

Thank you for the baby brother but

what I prayed for was a puppy..

your friend,

A quote by Ted Lieu about... "....ripping children away from parents..." 5/25/18 Friday

"There are many ways to describe the @realDonaldTrump policy of ripping children away from their parents at the border. It violates human rights laws. It is unAmerican. It would shock Jesus. But I think the most appropriate way to describe it is this: The policy is evil," Lieu tweeted.

This goes back a way. but....It feels like the argument about burning the flag..

"That was the worst thing in the entire world..." about burning the flag... it "broke the law"..no it didn't. ....."It disrespected the flag" No, it is what the flag stands for...Ducksworth's message is the perfect response to this crap...................................
.....................but the crappers will never stop, they never have, and they won't stop now...

especially if the crappers are backed by the chief crapper of all time...................

The police refuse to name the Indiana student who shot two people today..Why?

Who are the police protecting. So what if he is 12 or 13. He tried to kill people. He and his family lost their special privilege of his being a kid and a student, when he tried to kill people. People in the area know who he is as do his fellow students. So what is the big deal? Maybe I am being insensitive, but who is he? And why is that suburb keeping this asshole a secret? You tell me, please.

Yellow Bracelets? ..Trump did not order this...been going on since 2005...I was wrong..

It has not just started.........as I said..earlier..must clarify...

oberliner informed us in another thread....this is all a lie...Trump had nothing to do with this...

I am sorry... I got this wrong..............I will remove after awhile.. so this apology can be seen...

There has been, on average, 1 school shooting every week this year.(list & map of shootings) CNN:

(list and map of shootings in 2018 and locations at link below)

We're 21 weeks into 2018, and there have already been 23 school shootings where someone was hurt or killed. That averages out to more than 1 shooting a week.

The parameters CNN followed in this count are:

•A shooting that involved at least one person being shot (not including the shooter)
•A shooting that occurred on school grounds
•We included grades K through college/university level
•We included gang violence, fights and domestic violence
•We included accidental discharge of a firearm as long as the first two parameters are met.
